The Official LaLiga Thread
This season has started out on fire.
Tebas has gone on a full out war against Real Madrid/Perez and it now looks like LaLiga have stepped on Barca's toes too
Oh and good riddance Mehssi, you will not be missed.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Apparently they are a private equity firm that has previously been rejected by both Serie A and Bundesliga.
They'd apparently inject 2.7 billion euros into the league over a number of years. Barca were apparently going to get 270 million euroes and RM 261 million euros. The clubs would have to use 70% of it on infrastructure improvements, 15% on player acquisition and 15% to finance debts.
In return the firm would get 10% of LaLigas revenues over 40 years or something crazy like that.
The league told RM about the deal the day before it was announced while reports suggest Barca had known for a month.
RM put out an official statement today threatening to sue the league for the misappropriation of assets.
Crazy that we seem to be the only club oppoeed to such a crazy proposition. It does not benefit us at all. We neither need cash injection for infrastructure improvements as we've already been granted a loan and we don't need help with financing debt as we have been the club who's managed covid losses the best. And with a paltry 15% to be used on player acquisition that wouldn't even get us Camavinga
Now also reports out that Barca and Athletic Bilbao also opposing the deal. This deal would be the end of the ESL too. What did Tebas think? That we'd be happy to join in on this absolutely terrible deal.
It's time these clubs start listening to Perez and not the laliga pen pushers

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Official statement from RM
In light of the announcement of the agreement between LaLiga and CVC Capital Partners, Real Madrid states the following:
- This agreement was reached without the involvement or knowledge of Real Madrid and today, for the first time, LaLiga has given us limited access to the terms of the agreement.
- The clubs have signed over their audiovisual rights exclusively for their sale on a competitive basis for a period of three years. This agreement, by way of a misleading structure, expropriates 10.95% of the clubs' audiovisual rights for the next 50 years, in breach of the law.
- The negotiation was carried out without competitive proceedings and the financial conditions agreed with CVC Capital Partners give them annual returns of over 20%. This opportunistic fund is the same which tried and failed to reach similar agreements with the Italian and German leagues.
- Real Madrid cannot support a venture which hands the future of 42 Primera and Segunda División clubs over to a group of investors, not to mention the futures of those clubs who qualify over the next 50 years.
- Real Madrid will convene the Assembly of Representative Members to debate the agreement and discuss the significant loss of equity, unprecedented in our 119-year history.
50 year contract

When I see deals like that, I always assume the man that organise it done line his pockets with his retirement kick backs and whatever happens, well, not his fucking problem.
Serie A rejecting it should have been a huge ass red flag.

La Liga truly is fucked in the long term with this CVC deal, wild that incompetence is widespread in Spain.
La Liga and Serie A are on a downward trend, and will continue to sell its marquee players year on year until things change.

Wait a minute, is it already official? Please tell me it isn't, cause I thought the deal will have to be voted on by the 42 teams in the top two divisions before it gets "activated", so to speak. And we already know there's at least one club (Real Madrid) who's already opposed to it.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Barcelona can't register their new signings either (Depay, Aguero, Emerson, Garcia).
They were the recipients of the highest transfer fee in football history four year ago. And now they are in this state. Incredible.

I think RM will communicate their concerns to the rest of the clubs when they get together before the vote. Jeez someone needs to knock some sense into these teams ffs. They're about to sell their soles to a bunch of investers

Did Laporta just confirm Barca had to agree to the CVC deal in order to LaLiga to bend over backwards for them?

Laporta: “The only way to have margin on salary scale and register Leo passed through accepting something which we see as not good at all for Barca (CVC deal). We did not want to mortgage the future of the club.”

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Imagine, as the president of LaLiga, you reach an agreement with an investor without the knowledge or involvement of most, if not all , the 42 clubs from the top two divisions. A deal that would see the CVC expropriate 10.95 percent of all the clubs' audiovisual rights for the next 50 years, and yet somehow, you act surprised when Real Madrid comes back with the wrath of god.
Tebas, you beauty
I wish he had some decency in him to resign on his own, but those kinds of people love power too much to let it go.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
The LaLiga president @ing Laporta
Joan Laporta's explanation of Lionel Messi's Barcelona exit has sparked a number of reactions, but few have been as direct in their response as Javier Tebas.
The LaLiga president was in no mood to bite his tongue and he has responded to the Barcelona president, making reference to the controversial agreement that had been reached with CVC to secure 2.7 billion euros of investment in LaLiga Santander.
"The CVC deal doesn't mortgage Barcelona's television rights for 50 years," Tebas began in a tweet. "What it does is give more value to all of the clubs so that you can solve your club's huge debt. That's how you understood it a few hours ago."
But Tebas didn't stop there. The LaLiga president continued in his response to Laporta, again making reference to the amount of money that CVC valued LaLiga Santander at and were willing to invest.
"You recently said that we're broke," Tebas went on. "Now that we're valued at 2.4 billion euros, with the opportunity to grow, and you're worried about the future income of LaLiga Santander, which you had left for dead?
"We've proven that you were wrong. It seems as though young people are watching us."

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
La Liga is a circus. It's morbidly entertaining.
Look beyond the Laporta/Tebas/Barca/Messi stuff and there's the widespread problem of the league's financial controls crippling everyone. Salary budgets have shrunk for every team which is punishing Barca for their bloated salaries, but also the mid-table and lower table teams who are losing players just to meet the cap despite not being in any financial danger. I'd support these sorts of measures normally but these are extraordinary circumstances the world is currently in. It's a bit unfair.
Not to mention it hurts the league competitively. Besides Messi, if Barca can't register Aguero, Memphis and Emerson then it's tough seeing anyone but the two Madrid clubs winning the title.
For anyone not Barca or the Madrid clubs, the short-term boost from this CVC deal is very tempting even though long-term it seems a bad deal for all the clubs.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Florentino has come out all guns blazing, boys! This is next level baddassery:
Hopefully, this will make Tebas think twice before agreeing deals on other people's behalf.
https://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2021/08/10/official-announcementAt its meeting today at 11 am (CEST), the Real Madrid C.F. Board of Directors unanimously agreed to initiate both civil and criminal legal action against the LaLiga President, Mr Javier Tebas Medrano, Mr Javier de Jaime Guijarro, head of the CVC Fund, and against the CVC Capital Partners SICAV-FIS Fund itself.
In addition, the Board of Directors has resolved to take any legal action it considers appropriate to annul and render ineffective any possible resolutions adopted by the LaLiga Assembly, due to be held on 12 August 2021, in relation to the agreement between LaLiga and the CVC Fund.
Hopefully, this will make Tebas think twice before agreeing deals on other people's behalf.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
So Barca and Madrid can't pay or buy world class players... so they've decided to spend their money on world class lawyers. Or at least in Madrid's case. I think Barca is using law school interns right now.
