Playing horribly. Kroos is a turtle out there and Carlo has us set up all wrong. Would bring in Cama for Kroos. Besides that, we need to hold our own in the midfield and stop giving them space.

IMO Madrid goals were largely happenstance and they werent the better team at any point and it shows.

That's just a legendary pass from Modric. Rodrygo got lucky on the shot though, came off his shin.

The irritating thing here is that Madrid only showed urgency when they went 3 goals down. Before that, they looked indifferent, as if they were completely okay with being dominated at home.
And when Rodrygo scored, they went back to being indifferent again.
Really irritating.

Brilliant interception by Cama. Beautiful assist by Vini and a beautiful finish by Benz.
By the way, Chelsea have completely isolated the front three. It was only through Cama's interception that the ball got to Vini in a dangerous position.
Carlo's setup for this game is completely off.

How the feck is Real winning vs Chelsea despite all their problems? OBviously hate them but must say respect, they are just so good in the CL... goal of the season just purely on that Modric pass alone?
Must regret selling Varane n letting Ramos go though? Wtf is Cavarjal doing in CB XD

Camavinga always looks so good whenever he is on the pitch. Special player who needs to play more.

This game proved that Carlo's pecking order needs to be seriously revised.
Cama shouldn't be a bench player. Valverde shouldn't be a bench player.
Carlo must rotate in the league before City because the team is in fumes.
Congrats to the player, they suffered for this win.

DoC, even when Carlo comes thru yet again, you persist in your unnecessary criticism. Rather than enjoying that Carlo is getting more out this very minimal squad than one could reasonably expect, you continue to belittle him, the team and Flo. I no longer consider you a true RMad fan!

Re: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 QF - Chelsea v Real Madrid
If you put your emotions aside, you will come to realize that my quote doesn't have one iota of wrong in it.
Cama is too good to be a bench player, this is a fact, and I'm sure your rhetoric would be different if he were Spanish.
Valverde is too good to be a bench player, this is also a fact.
It is also well-documentated that Carlo doesn't rotate and always runs his starting eleven to the ground.
If you also set your emotions aside, you'll come to realize that his plan tonight was way off. First goal was through a godlike pass from Modric and a neat finish by Rodrygo. True definition of Individual brilliance.
Second goal only happened because Cama finally came on and he was able to do some interceptions in the midfield while Vini was still in a dangerous position and Benzema unmarked. Before that, the front three was totally isolated and Carlo had no answer for it.
If I ever needed a proof that Carlo is not the right man for the job, it would be tonight's performance.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2021/22 QF - Chelsea v Real Madrid
It's ridiculous to criticize Carlo when he has to play freaking Nacho as CB. Before Chelsea'sbfirst goal, it was favoring Madrid.
Afterwards, it was clear that the momentum was with Chelsea, and that was because the CBs couldn't contribute to the press or build effectively from the back.
It was clear that Kroos should have been subbed earlier, but that's never how Carlo operates with players (which is why they respect and play much better for him).
His subs then worked in flipping the match at the right moment. His trust in brilliant players doing brilliantnthings, instead of automating the hell out of them, payed off again.
It's ridiculous that a coach that is comfortably winning the league, in the semi finals of the CL, and improved the stats of key players such as Vini (and Benz to a minor extent) is being routinely criticised. Especially when this is the most agony and limited RM squad in a long time.
(also note that he was starting to get Bale up to speed before he was injured)

That corner that led to the second goal shouldn't even have been a corner. VAR sucks

He didn't have to play Nacho as a CB... I would have put Casemiro there (as Zidane used to at times). Would have allowed Camavinga to start as well.

That'sbasically telling Nacho to find a new club. Carlo won'tdo that. Nacho worked brilliantly with Militao last season. Shame that it had to be Militao missing and not Alaba or anyone else in that backline for that mattersportsczy wrote:He didn't have to play Nacho as a CB...
