UEFA Champions League Final 2021: Manchester City vs Chelsea

City got this imo but I predict 1-0. hopefully not a boring one tho.

lol that "we are going to istanbul" guy's hilarious. generally speaking the careful nature of big game finals doesn't make them "interesting", especially when both are from the same country. if one team scores early then the game tends to open up

This game probably won't be that great but Pep vs Tuchel is a good matchup.

This is probably a worse match-up for City than Madrid would have been. I'll have to watch the match on the weekend to make a better judgment, but based on the match against City's B team Chelsea looked very dangerous.

The 3-4-2-1 they are playing constantly gives them passing options, and they have three pace merchants attackers who will attack you centrally. It also doesn't help that they always have like 7-8 players behind the ball at all times.

It'll be interesting to see how Pep deals with it. Lyon was somewhat similar last season and he played a 3 man backline to match up with their attackers numerically. City didn't look good, and Zidane did that against Chelsea and Madrid looked awful.

Pep's been harping on this entire CL how he's learned from his mistakes of experimenting, but I think this match will be the litmus test to determine whether he actually has. All of his exits have come up against counter-attacking underdog teams. Let's see if there is a change.

City as the better talent... hopefully the attacking team gets rewarded with the title.

Interesting game but like the last 3 finals, I cant imagine it would be very exciting.

my first thoughts are City take it. Chelsea's back 3 will seem unless at times as they mark nobody while City overload the midfield.

Of course breaking through will be difficult because Chelsea are very solid as they form 541 but City have far more options than Madrid.

Chelsea are clearly very dangerous in transition, so that is always a concern for City.

I also think both sides have found their best 11, or at least 10 out of the best 11 and that could make for a game which both sides know exactly what they other will do.

Chelsea clearly are strong defensively, especially the middle, and vs Man C will again rely on the fast counter via the front 3, but none of them are that clinical, and vs improved Man C backline it will be intriguing to see who comes out on top. Man C presses like crazy vs PSG in the second leg having like 6 players right up to the backline of them, so wonder if they will do the same vs Chelsea, although Chelsea seems to be much better able to cope? Chelsea just look so fit strong and organised, Im sure Man C will be too come the final on 29th May which is so late this year?

Mahrez gonna be up against Chilwell/Rudiger/Kante I think so pretty sure its gonna be harder for him to dominate again. Gonna be fun also watching midfield battle of Kante vs all the Man C players

What happens when two perennial chokers face off each others, comedy of errors, that's what gonna happen in the final imo. Can definitely see Werner making 25 offsides and Sterling missing equal number of chances. All in all good banter is what I am expecting. Cba with who wins as long as it's not Guardiola.

No DM either since Gundo is playing that position looks like Pep is going in deep for the first half wants the lead then bring in a DM to see out the game is what it looks like his plan is.

They need a runner going up against a 5 man defense, but Sterling is so out of form and is a choker in front of goal.

Gundogan is better against the press, and if they're leading I guess he can bring on Fernandinho. Gundogan hasn't played DM since 18/19 though. Not sure how he'll do tracking Mount & Havertz tbh.

Either way you know what the narrative will be based on the result.
