Poor game. How Koeman has the balls to say we dominated parts of the game is impressively ignorant. We could have played another hour and we wouldn't have scored.

Mingueza tasked with Carrasco, so when Joao Felix drops short is Araujo supposed to follow him? If so, how is Pique supposed to cover that huge space/3rd man run?

Fati comes on, immediately is very dangerous. Taking all the responsibility, causing havoc.. What does Koeman do? Put him on the right completely out of the game, so we can throw aimless crosses at Luuk De Jong. You can't make this shit up.

As usual, the only thing interesting about the team is the young players. Gavi again was terrific, Fati as always and Nico played very well despite Koeman trying to scapegoat him.

Looked like a 4-3-3 in possession to me with Gavi and de Jon as 8s,  Dest as right attacker and Roberto as fullback (though the latter two might have swapped)
against the ball looked like Roberto was playing like a right sided CB and it was a 5 man defense?

Yep, it wasn't as I expected. Dest dropping in and Fati staying higher mostly, almost like 532 in defence in some phases.

Good win. With the youngsters playing well. Garcia was good as well except for one occasion.

Best game we played by far this season? Finally something more enjoyable. The front players especially played well, and as usual De Jong. Its clear Koeman n all the players are trying, n seem refreshed n determined.

With Fati n Alba back we r so much more balanced naturally, they just lifted the whole team as a result. Depay played very well as a general link up, n Dest given the right attacker role was pretty cool to watch him flying forward all game. Its a bit of a dilemma though since if he plays here it would mean Roberto at RB If not Dest has to defend more n cant offer as much going forward, so I guess it will change depending on the match n opponent.

Its not like we outplayed Valencia though, they had chances n hit the post n tired at the end. Also finally seeing Aguero on with a few nice touches. At least we have some real choices now n pretty much a more balanced team available.

1. How to deal with a high press
2. How to actually apply pressure ourselves, smartly. We have the workrate now, but no coordination
3. How to make quick passes and overwhelm defenders in tight spaces

Haven't seen anyone implement that since Enrique's first season

Missed Koeman's finale but did get to see the Madrid game.

Not the worst performance but that's by the previous poor standards set in big games.

Moving Fati to the centre was a horrible tactical move which completely took him out of the game.

Should have mentioned that too. I don't understand Koeman at all. As I said time ago, sign of a coach at the end, is when they starting changing things randomly game to game with no big picture. It's still relatively early into the season and he hadn't even figured out the profile of player he wants in certain areas. You can't go from Demir to Gavi to Dest on the right and say you know what your doing.

Today's game should be interested, at least from a line up point of view.

I love how one pass just splits open our entire defence. I jave seen bitter offer much more resistance to hot knife. Also the finishing is just plain ordinary.
