there are midweek games and I guess Carrick figures we're losing today regardless

I've never seen any young player lose their explosiveness this early the way CHO did compared to his Sarri days.

Same old united. Ole too had plenty of these performances. park the bus and get a point or 3 on counter.
United needs massive changes.

Not disagreeing that they need a lot of changes in general, but with Varane injured, Maguire suspended, Pogba injured, Luke Shaw and cavani injured, Greenwood out with Covid, and Carrick making the decision to rest CR7 for the midweek - it made sense to play with 3 defensive midfielders. And thanks to Chelsea's clumsiness, it paid off.

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
I honestly don't understand Chelsea's system. There were so many times that Alonso was playing 9 and Recce was in the number 10 zone. Even a lot of times, I saw how Chelsea had 5 players on the shoulders of the United back line when the ball was in the midfield. I get how they bombard an opposition fullback with someone always wide but how are they getting away with this? One quick counter and it should be GG for them.

Scoring 3+ goals each gameday still not favorites ffs. Klopp plz help this squad achieve the greatness that they deserve, spend a bit, force FSG.

Considering your bench being thinner than Chelsea and City i think it's fair to not have Liverpool as favorites. also you are more reliant on 1 or 2 particular players unlike City and Chelsea.

Not up to date with NEwcastle but so why are they taking over the club when they are in such a position? Bottom of the league n almost certain to go down? Arent there so many other clubs more attractive in Europe to take over?

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
Big game at Old Trafford tonight.
Man Utd:
De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Telles; McTominay, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo
Arsenal:
Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tavares; Partey, Elneny; Martinelli, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang
Arsenal can sneak into 4th with a win.
Rangnick technically not in charge of Utd tonight but has likely had a say in their training and set-up.

best thing about Ragnick coming in will be that Mctominay has NO future
fn sideways merchant
anyway, Rashford has been stinking it up for a while, I really think Arsenal will put us to the sword tonight
need a Ronaldo bail out

Yup. The team that night:
Leno; Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Elneny; Saka, Willian, Aubameyang; Lacazette
That horrible relegation form run happened after that night.

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
Anyway, I think Elneny starts tonight because he's safer in possession than Sambi, who completely fell apart in the 2nd half vs Liverpool. If the back six use the ball as well as they can do, Arsenal should be able to control the game. Whether they'll show enough quality and ambition going forward though is another matter.
Tavares concerns me because he has a very ambitious play style that doesn't always come off and is prone to errors under pressure. Hopefully he's learned a lot from the Liverpool game.

holy shit except for missing out on Saka and still lacking a very good striker, our team tonight is a massive upgrade!

Re: 2021/2022 Premier League Discussion
The ref didn't stop play for the injury and there's no foul or offside, so it has to be a goal.
Ref should have stopped play before the goal went in but he didn't. Arsenal don't have to stop play either.

Counted the goal since it was a self inflicted injury.
