Will Son Heung-min become post-2018 Karim Benzema if Harry Kane is gone?

I wouldn't be surprised if Son Heung-min has same development Benzema if Harry Kane leaves.

For years, Benzema used to be viewed as a meme player and even Real Madrid fans wanted to get rid of him. Benzema was not a top 10 striker in most people eyes. The likes of Lewy, Zlatan, Kane, Cavani, Aubameyang, Icardi, Immobile, Falcao, Higuain, Džeko etc. were rated a lot higher back then.

- 2016-17 season: 11 LaLiga goals in 29 games
- 2017-18 season: 5 LaLiga goals in 32 games

However, Benzema's production drastically improved after CR7 left and Bale massively declined.

- 2018-19 season 21 LaLiga goals in 36 games
- 2019-20 season 21 LaLiga goals in 37 games
- 2020-21 season 23 LaLiga goals in 34 games

Kane was injured half the season and Son's game was hurt by that, not enhanced. But it depends on who spurs replace Kane with. When Kane was out they had literally no one else to fit into those shoes l, they tried a few things (like Dele as a false 9) and none of them worked.

Son is not some victim to which a case was made for Benzema.

He is a great facilitator and very versatile but without Kane he just looked worse and isn't at the caliber of someone like Benzema who can take a game by himself for that as it is.

The idea about Son not being as good without Kane is a false narrative...
