Malicious opinion : compensation for 1st half
Roma protested much for that contact on Zaniolo (doubtful) and Lazio scored on that action
This didn't look like as penalty though

Weird penalty for Roma, but it makes the game more exciting.
Excellent work in the offensive phase for both teams. Could have been 5-4 if not for the GKs (an excellent performance by Reina).

I mean his goal was a nice moment for Milan fans because of his family, but if he's our backup #10 then I will not be pleased.
That's extremely unfair to a 19-year-old. D. Maldini actually played well for the youth team, unlike his older brother (who is actually a Serie C-level player).
That being said, I don't think he will end up being anything special. However, he could develop into a useful cog in a good team.

Both teams are not defending well
Every attack nearly creates something dangerous.

Yes, it looks like the typical PL big games that becomes " the best show in the world "

The Roma derby is almost always exciting. More entertaining than the Milan and Italian derbies.

This Derby has also been crazy atmosphere due to the huge rivalry right? Also happy as always to see Mou suffer, am just waiting to see his continuing downfall really, white hair n all still trying to do it on the touch line, but hes just not good anymore Sarri wins with a Lazio has been up n down lately?
Wonder how long Mou will just

Yes, but because you and me watch it on a neutral view

Anyway seriously " perspective changed "
Big Games in Premier are mostly a tactical battle, indeed you see less goals (watching at Chelsea-City, great example) while Serie A big games 've became more entertaining because they are most opened games

its as juicy as it it gets .... the rome derby is the craziest in Europe not just italy. this was very un-mourinho like ... his players were scattered all over the pitch.
both Sarri and Mourinho are new so cant say who has been good or not good.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
just watched full highlights i thought this game was going to be tomorrow , sigh..
anyway, i am wondering all the time, - any coach doesnt matter who it is, how come Roma doesnt have a solid defensive midfielder, and how they always ... always get so caught on counter against Lazio in derby.
this has been going on for way too long for AS Roma. Its a dream for Luis Alberto, and Immobile was phenomenal this game with two assist.
Seriously Roma cant play cristante with veretout as double pivot. Also their fullbacks on both ends were just nowhere to be found. Too many pushing numbers upfront but too slow to track down.
I seriously feel bad for Gianluca Mancini ... he just cant do everything alone

have to thank the likes of De Zerbi, Gasperini, Pioli, and so many other serie a coach ditching the tactical aspect of the game for more appeal with beautiful football. even mancini.
Serie A is way entertaining now in years

lol was close against Milan too. Good player for Samp. He is comfortable with ball, looses out a bit physically against physical playersRobespierre wrote:Yoshida from Japan @Jesp has scored against Inter and Juve in a month

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
there was a time under Fonseca with mass injury so much so that they didnt have any midfield and mancini played temporary DM and thats where Roma recorded most consecutive wins and once he moved back to CB ... they were back to loosing.
unbelievable. Roma just has to solidify that midfield and flanks more, they will otherwise continue to get caught in counterattack

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Lotsa of bellyaching throughout the Romaverse about the no-call on Zaniolo in the 1st half, but frankly I'm in the same mindset I've always been: If we play better football, we don't have to rely on big calls to win matches. It's just that simple.
Lazio were better than us today. They looked sharper and more confident on the ball and exploited the generous amount of space afforded them between midfield and behind the backline. Felipe Anderson looked unplayable today and a lot of that is down to how unprepared Vina was to take him on. The most worrying thing is Calafiori would've done no better. Spinazzola would've matched him for pace, but is not great defensively either. Felipe Anderson's just a very good footballer and we didn't have an answer for him. Today was his day.
As for us? My biggest gripe with Zaniolo in that first half was not trying to stay on his feet for that 1st call in the first place. He also made a meal out of the one he did win in the 2nd half. I don't really like that from attackers. I prefer honest play, but I'm pragmatic enough to know that doesn't really win anyone much silverware. Veretout was apart of everything good attacking wise, but is just so tactically clueless defensively. He's a real liability when we get countered. Cristante too. Neither have the instincts to sit in front of a backline and protect it from getting sliced up like Luis Alberto, Immobile and Felipe Anderson did to us today. I tend to agree with @Robespierre regarding Mancini. He's a leader at the back, but as a singular defender, he leaves something to be desired. I think Ibanez the better overall defender, but he's just so reckless tactically for me to trust him. Smalling is a lot more of a stabilizing presence.
I don't have too many complaints. I think a lot of people are figuring out that just because we add a legendary coach to our club doesn't necessarily equal instant success. We've beaten some rather dodgy sides leading up to this game. The frailties were always there. Verona exposed a lot of them. Lazio capitalized on them. I don't think we'll have the same struggles against the other big sides like we did under Fonseca, but I do think it's going to take longer for Mou imprint his mentality on this side. We will learn so much more about this team when it struggles than when it doesn't.

Why would you even want Mourinho to "imprint his mentality" on your team

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
I'm going to assume that wasn't directed at me personally and that "you" was plural, but I'll answer it anyway.
When you have a loser mentality and you bring in a coach who has proven he can win (even if he hasn't had as much success in the most recent seasons), what do you actually have to lose that hasn't already been lost?
You want to know the last trophy Roma won? A Bonzai tree. That's literally it. It's pretty embarrassing. Mou likely won't win us a scudetto, but a Coppa? The Conference League? Maybe.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Mou actually won two trophies with United.
They haven't won anything else since. Before that, he won with Chelsea and Madrid. Sure, he regressed, but he is still a successful coach. First time he didn't win a trophy with a club was Spurs.
Still moans a lot though, pretending like Roma actually deserves the victory yesterday of not for the ref.

McLewis, whats Roma's ambition with Mou do u think? Is it more long term or do they want more immediate results, like CL or Europa spot as targets? Apologies if ive asked this before but trying to keep up to date with things as usual

The objective would be CL spots but with 7 teams tight in the race it'll be difficult.
Napoli, Inter, and Milan started strong for 3 of those spots

cheeky reverse jinx attempt there but you and me both know that an Allegri managed Juve will be up there at the end of the season.
In 15/16, Juve had 5 points after 6 games and still ended up walking the league with over 90 points.
