2 things

1.
Who the hell is "Di Marco" and why is he taking penalties for Inter?"

2.
Handanovich scrambling to keep a backpass from going out to a corner, then a goal comes from that only to be taken back by VAR?
Doesn't seem right, in fact seems infuriatingly wrong - shouldn't that rather be a case of "advantage" played?

it's Dimarco, not Di Marco  ( all attached. I  admitt many Italians too are wrong to write it , 90% of surnames with "Di" are detached. A curiosity, I've noticed that it is the contrary in USA  , those old Italian emigrants have that Di all attached ..I wondwer why)

He's a youth product that came back at Inter after good experience in Verona

He's a low player with very good foot ( not by chance he's scored on free kick this year)  but for me he 's average at max about  the rest.

Free kicker is Lautaro ( tbf Lautaro is not even so good to kick him . we never had troubles in last 2 years because Lukaku was the best free-kicker in inter history. Just incredible scorer on free kicks) but he was subbed.
Calhanoglu, another potential free kicker was subbed.
Dzeko is atrocious on penalty kicks , he's missed half of these.
Sanchez ever worse, he's more penalty kicks missed than scored.

Honestly I wanted Perisic to kick them( or at max Brozovic), Perisic was the penalty kicker in 2018-2019 season after Icardi was out of Inter and Croatian was great free kicker.

ok, he's not Le Tissier but I mean, for a decisive penalty kick on 85' I choose a player who won Scudetto, Champions League, goal in WC final, experience at highest level rather than Dimarco

2 Ball was out.

In football it's not important if it gives an advantage or not. Ball is out = action is finished.

He was luck on it , ok , but it's football's rules.

Federico Dimarco isnt bad. he is good player he is definitely not like a standout fullback but he does involve often and contribute, he had 5 goals and 6 assist on 35 outings in verona, and was a trusted player by Juric who is a very demanding coach and expects discipline from his players.

Also when DiMarco came he was the one whom from Barella's pass from the left flank went on to aim shot on goal in which Musso had to save that fell right on Dzeko's feet nicely and scored.
Pk is missed by anyone ... even the greatest players.

So its not like as if he should be a scapegoat to this draw. Besides DiMarco isnt even a regular

btw have to Atalanta, Malinovsky is just crazy this game, rocketship on first goal, hit the post, also another thunderbolt which handanovic had to save fell right on toloi's feet nicely.
not a bad outing by Atalanta, De Roon Freulier was ok but often Atalanta was caught on counterattack but zappacosta was really bad on this ... it was mostly and more often that few that came from his flank the dangers.

Zapata was alright but i expected more from pessina. This game was crazy from start to end

perhaps, inter has this huge luxury than any other team in Serie A in terms of squad depth - Perisic can play that LWB role, there is Darmian who can play that role, there is also Kolarov, Di Ambrosio can fill that role if really needed. So DiMarco has tough competition.

This is why I keep telling inter have quality and depth ahead of anyone in Serie A but Robes keeps denying that Very Happy they are fav to win scudetto

The action wasn't finished though. Play went on. The ball was ruled as not out by the ref and the action went on.
Then later VAR intervenes by taking a situation that was originally judged to Atalanta's disadvantage and use it to disadvantage Atalanta further.

Why should VAR intervene here? It shouldn't.

Ball overstepped the line before of Handanovic's shot.

So action wasn't valid anymore.

What's to understand ?

Curiosity : I was already so mad for penalty missed by Dimarco, Inter concede 2-3 immediately and so I close my Dazn on PC.
I come back after 2 mins  and I read 2-2 . Good surprise at least

Pellegrini out is a big loss for us. Lazio will be keen to take advantage of that. They could do a big favor though and even the odds by playing Lucas Leiva, who has looked mismatched in Sarri's system. He's not a regista and it shows.

This is a good opportunity for Zaniolo to take advantage of Pellegrini's absence and re-emerge.

that ref was  no way pellegri deserved second yellow. he didnt even touch udinese player. that being said Eldor Shomurodov should be able to easily fill that role as AM, or a FW.
Shomurodov a little bit underlooked by mourinho, maybe he will get his chance over time. i think both zaniolo and Shomurodov will play. it would be very dangerous duo with PREMIER LEAGUE EXPERIENCED TAMMY upfront.

but hans, ref later admitted after VAR check that it should have been out of bounds in first place. i think it was a valid appeal from inter players, it was just unfortunate for Atalanta. but sometimes even VAR misses things like that it could have gone the other way with Atalanta win and probably a different discussion would have taken place

lol whats with Destro nowadays he has had total quagliarella like reincarnation of his career. score goals and not just goals, important goals.

he is like the worst thing milan could face, everytime milan plays genoa he scores. it has happened only with berardi and Cristiano Lucarelli

Beauty by Crossdreva

What a bizarre match. We were playing well i hope to not lose focus. At least everybody gives an effort this first half, maybe a bit too much from Cuadrado Very Happy (wtf did he do) and Dybala also injured after jumping it seems
