You can’t play like this in March. Not enough improvement throughout the season, not enough bright spots to warrant more time. The players look lost, there’s no system- recycling possession with backwards and horizontal passing isn’t a system

Gifted goal aside, which was an individual mistake, this match was a must win.

After the Porto tie this match against Benevento seals his fate imo.

Don't complicate it, the man literally has no identity for his team, all i've seen so far is over reliant cross from the wings to Morata and Ronaldo, long balls from deep and set piece delivery. All ironically, in Pirlo's forte.

Rabiot can't defend. He really can't. So in a double pivot, you need a DM next to him AND a winger who can defend. He's at his best in a 3 man mid where he's attacking, not defending.

Pirlo is not getting sacked yet. You need a much bigger implosion for that to happen and this wasn't it. It just looked worse than it actually was because it was Benevento. 15 shots inside the box, 6 big chances, 2 free kicks from close range (with the expected result) and a goal conceded from another ridiculous individual mistake

Also, Paratici came out after the game (something that never happens) and said that Pirlo will be here next year. Maybe it's true or maybe he was just wanted to get ahead and prevent a crash by the team. Eh, maybe they should have done that with Sarri too, instead of letting him dead for the vultures

Actually, Rabiot is good at defending deep and starting a counterattack. What he's not good at is stopping counterattacks either by preventing them or by tracking back. He sucks at both and at any kind of buildup. And he's mentally soft and lazy. One of the biggest wastes of talent I've seen, at least at Juventus

As for what Pirlo is trying to do, the answer is to piece together a starting eleven from whatever he has available. The good news is that the South Americans and the North American won't have to leave for international duty, so he'll probably be able to field the best midfield combination we have (the only good one, actually) for like the fourth time this season. Hopefully, the two fullbacks will be back too

How would u rate him overall? It sounds like a quite rigid and limitation on who I thought is quite a talented all round midfielder. Do u think he would fit in a Barca team with 3 midfielders? So De Jong + Busquets or whoever we get as replacement + Rabiot, or something similar?
