lateral passing, no urgency
same old, same old
we got a curse spelled upon us when we moved to the Emirates, that can be the only explanation to our misfortunes

Zero urgency in the city game as well as today. Kickoff after the last goal typified whats wrong with the team. Doesnt want to run, score or win. No one wants to move, probably they all know the season is done and dusted.

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
The ref let Bissouma get away with about 7 fouls without carding him. That didn't help at all because Brighton could just foul all they want.
But man, Arsenal are just sad. Impotent up top, flimsy at the back, constantly losing 50/50 challenges, nobody out there playing with any authority or confidence, Arteta apparently has all these ideas but his in-game changes suck, kids are taking minutes from first-teamers because the first-teamers don't want to be here or something, and so, so much more.
And there's no money to fix it.

Why is football back ffs
I was enjoying this break!
Arteta's in game changes/decisions are not good enough
But there is a lot wrong with this club!

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
You know it's going to be a bad time when the ball gets stuck in the back-line and isn't progressed to the midfield.
The midfield was non-existent in that phase. The pass to Guendouzi was easily blocked and neither Saka or Ceballos dropped to collect.
It was like watching an Emery team all over again.
I'd like to know what Arteta was thinking with that midfield three today.

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Disappointing stuff from Emery... I mean Arteta.
This game was really reminiscent of the dreaded Emery era when I thought that something had changed with Arteta’s arrival. I didn’t think we would ever see Arsenal defend a 0-1 lead against Brighton with no intent of scoring more. Bringing on a LB for an attacking player while looking to score is something I didn’t think we’d see again with Emery gone.
I hope that Arteta reflects on the last two games and looks back at the things that made him an exciting manager in the first place.

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Aubameyang (50 goal striker) playing as a winger
Non existent midfield
No overlapping runs from the full backs
Players not giving enough
A midfield which makes no sense
Defensively holding and mustafi looked much better

Arsenal under Arteta could have been considered decent team if football was only 45 minutes!

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Unspectacular but solid and much needed win.
Game plan was definitely to get the win no matter what. Would have liked more play in Southampton's half in the 2nd half but we did well to limit their chances.
Holding and Mustafi both good. Were well protected by Tierney and Saka.
Some botched counters due to poor decisions but the movement was there at least.

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
can't believe we played 5 at the back. Feels like Arteta has gone into 'results' territory at this point.
It worked so not complaining. some good performances at times. Some usual. Holding was quite impressive.
Xhaka is crucial to this team

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
I feel Arteta is afraid. He is afraid of losing so much that he doesnt want the team to attack as it leaves the defence vulneravle. But it is understandable as who can trust this midfield and defence?

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Pragmatic is the word I'd use.
His ideal might be an attacking game where Arsenal control the opposition and camp in their half, but to do that you need smart defenders who can play in a high line, midfielders capable of keeping the ball and attackers who can counter-press.
Arsenal might do it once every five games or something, but they don't have the luxury to do that. Ideals are nice but the results are necessary if the project is going to go anywhere.
So if that means playing a 3-4-3/3-5-2 and letting the opposition have the ball, then so be it.

Seems like he has annoyed Arteta with his attitude
I was hoping Arteta can help him improve, especially defensively
I like him but he isnt an important player as of now,if we can get decent fee we should take it
