Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Excellent half off the ball stopping Norwich for leaving their half. Ceballos and Lacazette have been workhorses.
In possession, we're getting the wing-backs into good positions although their delivery has been inconsistent. Ceballos again having a top game. You can tell Lacazette badly needs a goal.
Just gotta keep the intensity and concentration up now.

So who knew Cedric was the best right back in the Prem?
Just a run of Wolves, Leicester, Spurs, Liverpool and City in the cup to come.

GET IN Cedric yessss!!! go get yours mate, pls make that RB spot yours it's definitely for the taking!
We definitely have to beat 2 of Wolves, Leicester and Spurs. We just need to. No more bowing down and coming up short to these teams, it's time to step up for the future betterment of this team.

If we manage to take 9 points from Wolves/Leciester/Spurs we're right back in the CL race.
Wholly unrealistic but still possible, especially if 5th ends up being a qualification spot.

Martinez; Mustafi, Luiz, Kolasinac; Cedric, Ceballos, Xhaka, Tierney; Saka, Nketiah, Aubameyang
Pepe has been left out today due to his wife giving birth.
No Guendouzi or Ozil in the squad again.
Torreira returns to the subs bench after injury.

Scared of Kolasinac at LCB against Wolves... He has always looked unconvincing there.
Big test

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
20 mins gone and I'm struggling to see how we're gonna score tonight.
Wolves are blocking the ball into the midfield and wing-backs then squeezing up when Arsenal go backwards. Making it very tough for them to get out without playing it long.
All the signs of a difficult game for us tbh.

Arteta's greatest achievement has been limiting Mustafi's errors.

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Gotta credit him for swapping Tierney for AMN early in the 2nd half. Tierney was struggling to keep up at that point.
Wolves had good chances in each half, but Arteta's Arsenal are a lot better at restricting opposition shots in their penalty area than Emery's was.
Realising his defenders can't defend well in big open spaces and changing to 3ATB is proving to be a pragmatic decision. They invite more pressure but even guys like Mustafi and Luiz can block shots and head crosses away.
Now for Leicester. Gonna be interesting to see what Arteta does vs a team who want possession and can patiently work the ball around the box.

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Adama miss was turning point and then after water break seemed like momentum changed!
Which makes for interesting debate overall
Should coaches be allowed to request a time out?
Anyway huge credit to Arteta and the team
Massive win
Need to continue this run

Just wanna add we've come a long fucking way since conceding 31 shots away to Watford. Limiting Wolves to just 10 shots today was really good.

Re: Post lock down season 19/20
Wolves looked to me to be the toughest of the 3 games out of them, Leicester and Spurs. We have to go on to beat those two now. I don't really care about getting CL football (i still think it's a bit too late, the Brighton loss might haunt us in regards to that) or where we end up in the EL spots --- i just want us to show the metal and the fight and beat these strong teams in and around us for once.
I don't mind the pragmatic approach at all. We look solid in defense as long as we don't make silly mistakes. Progressing the ball a bit quicker and more efficiently from back in to midfield to the attack can still be worked on, but i genuinely like this system. I even think we can try out a 3-5-2 within the game if things become a bit too stale, just to get another body in the midfield to help with retaining possession and moving the ball forward.
Everyone put in their shift. Niles, Willock, Bellerin and Torreira all looked sharp when they came on. Ceballos, Xhaka and Mustafi my men of the match. Auba looked a bit tired in the second half though. I believe he has played every single minutes since the restart, we might need to find time to rest him a bit more, maybe he doesn't need to start vs Leicester. A real big shame Martinelli had to get injured at this time, because he could have been really useful as well.

Does it help that Chelsea fans are hoping for an Arsenal win, too?
