Given his advance age already whilst in Roma he has been quite good if not very good.

Defensively he can be prone to error but only due to his dwindling pace to which was never really there to start with but what has stood out is his leadership, ability to get out of a bad performance with a memorable one and of course his attack.

His crosses to set-pieces to his sumptuous long distance shots with that ridiculous left-foot is always something to look forward to.

Was Roma's top goal-scorer along with El Shaarawy last year.

can always rely on Mehlan to cheer me up

losing to a team that would struggle to beat top 10 in the second tier of English football...

no Kessie (c), no party.

lost 1-0 to udinese

better than loosing 3-0 cuz that was likely happening today

Castro scores for Cagliari now but ruled off correctly.

Refereeing nightmare this game. 3 disallowed goals and another soft penalty.

Jesp and Romanisti get their wish as Jesus comes off (hopefully for the last time) for Gianluca Mancini with a rousing applause from the Curva, with Roberto Mancini himself sitting up for this.

Goals aside some lovely possession football so far from this Roma side too, under Fonseca.

3-3 Kouame with a terrific header past Roma who already was dangerous throughout the game and Genoa's pre-season.

Really a goal Roma could have avoided.

3-4 Fio-Napoli and now 3-3 today. Wonderful weekend for Serie A action.

And I agree Jesp with the complete lack of discipline there. Not really anyones fault individually just poor communication with a backline still adapting to their now increased attacking responsibilities.

Yes they should save imo, considering also Balotelli..
I also think Corini is a good coach , I remember his past experiences and he didn't look like bad
Squad is organized and they play good, not by chance Corini was an intelligent playmaker as player...

Muriel was great also last year in a terrible squad as Fiorentina
Should definitely develop under Gasperini
Atalanta haven't made mercato for CL.
their mercato was = confirming big players ( gomez, ilicic etc ) + adding muriel.
Basically they added quality, and in fact they haven't won in an Atalanta-way , I mean with their usual gamestyle based on intenxity, but individual play are deciding the match

its a big ask but atalanta is so organized with gasperini... muriel made a good choice also, and Atalanta need quality players for both Serie A and European comittments.. so very wise investment indeed

Schöne has had to be the best player in the game overall. That should not be a surprise to anyone who knows the player beyond a short sample.

Mancini has been promising when coming on despite the miscommunication for the concession of the goal.

Genoa with all 10 men behind the ball to withstand the Roma onslaught.

If only Milan coul-...

difficult call but yep Schöne been orchestrating great long short, defense splitting pass, and also helping in defense... a complete performance for a midfield... can we swap him with calhanoglu?
Schöne is genoa player right ? XD

Tonali does look like Pirlo in his sort of really effective slow/simple-looking way of protecting the ball from pressure while waiting for the right pass.

i had watched him occasionally but especially even with litle time during u21 he was soo damn good...
just can keep ball can dribble, can pass and see spaces and players... great visionary player
he is a really proper possession loving player....

to think that tonali did so much in just 15-20 min game play he got vs locatelli who got like 70 min and did pretty much nothing...
he is going to be a a player to watch... apparently PSG wants to bring him in next season

3-3 it ends for Roma-Genoa.

Exciting match overall. Very impressive from Andreazzoli who's side had a lionhearted performance to clawback each time even if Roma were the more dominant side if not unlucky.

Lots of signs to look forward to for the Roma faithful with their comfortable navigation of the ball to keep possession, Dzeko looking far more focused and at his best compared to last season, and the front-line combines well.

De Rossi already you can tell is a huge miss in the midfield with his command and control, on that note.

Backline is one to worry about as Manolas mistakes aside he commanded the backline and attacked well from it while Fonseca cannot favour 'experience' in the form of Fazio or especially Jesus over Mancini if not others as I cannot see how Marcano was left to go back to Porto given what he can offer. Cetin should get the nod and trial ahead of both the CBs that started today.

Spinazzola definitely should get the nod in next time given he is quite ambidextrous, underrated and complete.

It will be hard to see if Dzeko is out of form if not injured that only Defrel is their second goal-scoring threat since El Shaarawy departed for China.

Should be an exciting season for Roma either way.

The Boos that Zappa got after his air swing, would have 100% won them the game if he connected. I never expected him to, though Laughing

Hugely exciting game though, going to watch the Napoli Fio game soon, too Proud

I don't know how they usually play, but today Brescia preferred to build up through the fullbacks, with Tonali looking like a decoy used to keep them free. Sofascore says they had 75/72 touches, Tonali 57. He looked okay when he had the ball, nothing crazy yet, except fooling a defender one time, but then throwing himself to the ground as soon as the other guy put his hands on him. His corner kicks are pretty good, the penalty came after one.

Mancini is aggressive but coming from Atalanta he may not even know how to defend more conventionally. Also, coming from Atalanta, expect him to break something. Rugani is okay, just not aggressive. They may actually complement each other well.
