Cagliari are another one I'm intrigued about as well. Will be interesting to see if Nainggolan can settle back into some form and stay fit. If so, they will be tough to beat, especially at home.

Serie A MVPs to wear patches

The new Serie A season begins today and some players will be wearing special commemorative patches as the best of 2018-19.

It all kicks off at 17.00 UK time with Parma v Juventus, followed by Fiorentina v Napoli at 19.45.

There is a novelty in the kits for this season, with patches identifying achievements from the previous campaign.

Fabio Quagliarella will have one all of his own representing his status as reigning Capocannoniere, having scored 26 goals.

The Sampdoria striker will continue to wear that particular patch on his jersey in every Serie A game for this term.

Other patches represent the winners of the inaugural Serie A MVP Awards, handed out based on a statistical analysis.

They are Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Sampdoria forward Quagliarella and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Roma starlet Nicolò Zaniolo was named best young player.

I like this idea.

I understand that it's the first game of the season, and that with Sarri ill they went with the old team, but Matuidi on the field is just tragic. A stain on a great team today.

Not the most exciting way to cap off Juventus' campaign.

Pjanic with a wonderful midfield display but Higuain the most impressive with his superb front 3rd creative ability and him with CR is a lovely link-up display and can be huge for Juventus is this develops.

I'm surprised by Khedira since preseason and in this match. Useful once again. Matuidi is comically out of the game though. Incredibly poor in Sarri's system. He is becoming a real problem blocking his transfer.

Rabiot makes that side look a lot better.

I'd add Alex Sandro and Szczesny for that save earlier
