Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
I too would like to know how we didn't pursue Ndombele. Thought he was the easier of the two to negotiate for and seeing how much Spurs paid for him, I am absolutely correct to think that way.

most likely because pogba and ndombele are not the same level of footballers and it's been clear from day 1, whom Zidane wanted.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
Solskjaer holding his first press conference of the summer in Perth. On Pogba, he said: “We’ve had no bids. We’re Man United, we don’t have to sell our players.”
Paul has never been a concern for me. He is a true professional, I can’t be sitting here speaking about him all the time and what agents are saying. We have a few years left of his contract and for me he has been fantastic.

I've seen a lot of people on the internet praise Ole for his honesty, but I think he's always been almost a bit obnoxiously diplomatic. I suppose that's the best way to avoid controversy, but it can be obnoxious nonetheless. I certainly wouldn't describe it as honest.

Meh Pogba hasn't done anything wrong. When has he acted unprofessionally?
Keeps himself fit, turns up to training etc
If United get a good fee he should be allowed to leave.

If he's such a model professional, I think you should keep him

Nothing to do with being a model professional. If he wants to go he can if an offer comes.
Keeping a player that doesn't want to be there could affect the dressing room etc. Important thing is to get a decent offer.
Can't fault Pogba too much. A lot of the hate he receives is media driven imo.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
So, you're saying that he's acted professionally and not done anything wrong, that's all the media's work. Now, they should let him go because keeping him around could lead to him not honoring his contract and cause a negative atmosphere in the dressing room? Those unscrupulous, media bastards have no shame, man
I'm with you, though. If I was an employer, I would try to hire people with low work rates, who like to flirt with other companies. There are many different interpretations of what it means to be professional, and the extent to which one is required or expected to be professional, but we're on the same page, bro. Mino Raiola is on our page, as well. He’s as honest as an autumn leaf.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
Wanting to leave is one thing, I think I’ve stated an excessive amount of times, how much I dislike his on-pitch attitude and highly unpredictable level of devotion. That’s not my definition of a professional. What he does off the pitch is comparatively uninteresting. The media exaggerates, lies and fabricates, but it’s not as if he’s never given them anything to work on.

Was Cristiano Ronaldo being professional when he said he wanted to leave United and also agreed with Blatter that he was treated like a slave? Or was he being professional when he kept telling the media that he is sad at Real Madrid?
Pogba doesn't kick up a fuss, is Uniteds best player by a considerable distance and backs it up no matter what people say.
People want him to control games like xavi, score like Lampard, tackle like Makelele and be a leader like Keane.
Mino must be doing something right seeing that he has a lot of clients.

What exactly does he do on the pitch that's bad?

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
I don't think C. Ronaldo should be excused for either of those statements. Like Pogba, the media has always pinned him as an antagonist. Much more so in the case of CR7, I'd argue. While a lot of the criticism has been undeserved and uncalled for, he certainly gave them a lot of material to work with. Don't get me started on his occasional body language, I would've expected him to grow out of that much sooner. No one can doubt his dedication, though. He is a model professional, in that regard.
I feel like I'm repeating myself, but Pogba is Man United's best player in terms of talent, sure. No one's questioning that. I simply don't appreciate his lack of devotion, and with his inconsistency and blatant lack of big game impact over the course of his career with United, bar City and Arsenal on two isolated occasions, I find it hard to argue that he's your most productive player. You're basically repeating what Sports has been saying, in that people supposedly expect him to do everything. How about expecting him to put in an average level of effort on a fairly consistent basis? How often do you watch Man United, anyway? There doesn't seem to be a middle ground in debates regarding Pogba. Either he's a saint, or he's scum. I don't think he's on either side of the scale, but I do think his attitude in regard to devotion is disappointing, and the talent is wasted on him unless that changes.
We're all familiar with Mino, by now. The most successful lawyers are the greatest liars. Feel free to educate me on what a misunderstood genius he is.

Jibers real Madrid fans are the type of fans that will make up anything to prove a point, again everything being said about pogba is worse with scrubsco, over weight multiple seasons, fighting with manager, doesn't defend, doesn't pass unless it's to another Spanish lad and is clearly entitled cause media pretend he isn't shit, it's funny no matter shit isco is he is elite and should continue with club, but so easy to write off the real elite players kroos, case and jogba, Madrid fans 101.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
Pogba is of course about 3 times the player Isco is. He deserves to play at a proper club, while Isco would be good for Man United.
Isco+Bale for Pogba is what ManUnited should go for. They'd be massively improved. Bale would be scoring frequently back in the PL.

that + 80M, get it done. Been saying that. Bayol is broken but still 20x the player James and Lingard will ever be.
Problem seems to be that Madrid value those 2 at 140M combined.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
Unfortunately Firenze, this is standard operating procedure... the players shows up to training early and allows his club to sell him in the best of circumstances. If the club doesn't, somewhere towards the end of July, the player mysteriously leaves training for an "injury" and the agent makes a statement publicly saying that his player wants to leave.
For Madrid, this happened with Bale and Modric because Levy is such an ass when it comes to selling players.
I don't expect this to get done until the last minute and Man U WANTS Pogba to become the villain in this sale so the fans are appeased. Last minute transaction.

I don't see us selling him without getting in replacements and there are 3 weeks until it closes for the PL teams. Just seems too late in the window IMO. We'll see.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
I think they're negotiating. Utd wants a particular amount (and rightly so), madrid trying to lower the price. Just normal footy negotiations. All pogba has to do is show up to training, tell his agent to shut up and maintain his United commitments until whether or not a deal gets finalized. No need for anyone to make a big deal of it. Every party knows what they want. It's that simple
