Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
Football is not a game where you can play at an elite level with C players around you unless you're a fullback or goalkeeper (low dependency on other players). Just can't do it.
There's a reason Pogba looks like an absolute beast on NT with top players around him and with Juve when he had top players... and then looks average at Man U. He's a CM. It's a position that is most impacted by everything...
If he wasn't such a god with France, I'd agree with you.

sportsczy wrote:I think he pretty much is the best CM in the world... but that's just my opinion. I see the difference in how France NT plays without him; even with guys like Kante, Ndombele, Tolisso, etc. to take his spot. Night and day.
Even at Man U. As much as he was criticized, they literally have nothing in the middle now. All they can hope for is a ball over the top for one of Martial or Rashford to run onto. You take that away and Man U can't do a single thing.
I'm not talking about his skill level; if they're making a list of the top 2 or 3 cmfs I think there will be at least 2 above pogba, at least. I don't think people r looking at pogba right now as some world beater, if anything his stock has fallen . If flo makes a move, he should offer a low price let's see what utd says. If they say no, look elsewhere

that is just not true. gerrard has put in some world class performances in some pretty shit liverpool teams over the years.sportsczy wrote:Football is not a game where you can play at an elite level with C players around you unless you're a fullback or goalkeeper (low dependency on other players). yeah Sports this is just not true. Pogba has has proven to be a pathetic and incapable leader, certainly at club level.sportsczy wrote:Football is not a game where you can play at an elite level with C players around you unless you're a fullback or goalkeeper (low dependency on other players). I do think be would look great in Madrid but he just lacks the qualities by himself to elevate a midfield let alone a team

Those Liverpool teams were better than this version of Man United. We're talking Kuyt, Lucas, Mascherano, Jordan Henderson, etc. in midfield at their worse. Pogba is playing with Fred, McTominay and Matic. Not to mention those Liverpool attacks had players like Suarez, Coutinho, Fernando Torres, Sturridge, Sterling, etc.
What did them in was defense. They couldn't stop anyone. Man United's defense currently is much better than what Liverpool was putting out in those days believe it or not. That wonderful duo of Skrtel and Agger.... Carragher was in his 30s by 2009, the last year Liverpool was a contender until 2013. Fullbacks were guys like Glenn Johnson, Jose Enrique, etc. Regardless, Mourinho realized his defense was poor and basically packed it in... which is a waste. Liverpool attacked and conceded a ton. But at the very least, they played to Gerrard's strengths even it wasn't the best choice in terms of getting results.
Not to mention Gerrard was good 2 years post 2009... 2009-2010 and 2012-2013. He was injured a lot otherwise and his last season at Liverpool were meh to say the least (he left in 2015).

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
SAF was absolutely right when he called his fat agent a shitbag. Some of things he said and continues to say against United are absolutely disrespectful, especially after all the money and support United has had to fork out for these two frauds.
I mean take a look at this ungrateful hypocrite's quote:
Right after this, United should've taken the decision to bench his client's overrated ass for the remainder of his contract and refrain from dealing with Raiola ever again.
This shit wouldn't fly under SAF, and I'm guessing he's seething at what's happening at United right now.
The world we live in: an insignificant but fat vermin loyal to nothing but gold taking a dig at one of the richest, biggest and most popular clubs in the world with a trophy-laden history that extends beyond the four corners of the globe...and there's nobody to put him in his place.
Their board of directors should all get fired, starting with Woodward. And any club dumb enough to sign this mercenary and deal with his ungrateful agent should be sent into space towards the closest known black hole in our galaxy.

Raiola wrote:Pogba’s problem is Manchester United. It’s a club out of touch with reality and without a sporting project.
I wouldn’t take anyone there, they would even ruin Maradona, Pele and Maldini. Paul needs a club and a squad, one like Juventus was before.

50 to 60 mil, hell, 70 mil actually seems like a fair valuation for Pogba. Talent wise, really great player but outside of France NT, he isn't anything to rave about. At all. And 25 mil is definitely an insulting offer though.

We're headed for a midfield of Casemiro, Kroos, Odegaard backed up with Valverde, ?, Isco.
We do need another midfielder, but not Pogba.
@Doc, I don’t think even 25M is worth it.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
Even with a year left on his deal United will ask 100 mil and may not get a club to pay for it. By pure hubris they might not even let him walk for free. Good luck to him and Mino

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
If Madrid ever gets Pogba for anything less than 40 mil, I would consider it a much bigger transfer coup than getting Kroos at 25 mil.

I think the stats were that he walks most, and best. IIRC he jogs little compared to others.

I'm not 100% sure, we would need to check that infographic that was posted here a while ago but it's of course impossible finding it

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
Didn't he say that he doesn't need to run, because Messi doesn't run? It's a dead giveaway, like it was with Turan who said he came to Barca so that he doesn't need to run. And I think the point from where Pogpads downfall started.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
On a side note, I made a post on reddit basically explaining why we need pogba or a player who has an eye for a pass and that can play CM, as well as a RW with end product. I suggested Mahrez but stated he would not be my first choice. But we had to look at that right wing role.
I criticized Kroos for his lack of mobility and final ball.
I should've realized that reddit is filled with a bunch of kids that play fifa all day. Had someone tell me I knew nothing about football
and that Kubo and Odegaard are enough. Two kids
fucking Kubo.. are you serious?
In the event that Pogba comes, it would be valverde that would be benched, not Kroos according to reddit. What a bunch of morons.
Benzema shoulders way too much burden leading the attack.. he's not JUST the scorer right now, he's the playmaker and the facilitator. It's unfair to him because he will get marked out of games. Player reliance like that is unhealthy. We need a player with an eye for a final pass and that can play as an 8.

Pogmarketing

Reason why Man United will never sell him. It doesn't matter if he's spending the entire season in the hospital or playing Fortnite with Lingard, Woodward will do anything to keep his social media superstar at the club for a long time.

Re: Paul Pogba - The resurgence
sadly I think you're correct there
he's still United's 'star' player
but I really hope we listen to any potential offers in the summer, he still holds good value, take 70-80M. Club won't do it though, they still consider him worth 150M. Probably is due to marketing.

The first details of the Pogba operation have started: Raiola has been talking for some time with MUFC and Nedved in person for Juventus - The Bianconeri are the players first choice. [@ChriTravaini] pic.twitter.com/hJnJNVs6Iu
