If it was just LA wouldn't the Clippers have equal success landing free agents as Lakers?

I hate the Lakers but they've got the history, the prestige, the success, the location...there are reasons beyond Hollywood for players wanting to be with the lakers.

The Lakers were not going to give the Pelicans the six to eight draft picks they wanted for Davis.

The Lakers had agreed to send their entire young core of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Ivica Zubac to the Pelicans, as well as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports the Lakers no longer were interested in bidding against themselves for Davis.

The Lakers are desperate to get Davis for this season already and the Pelicans know it. Good on LA to say enough's enough, you can't trade your whole franchise for one player.

I don't blame the Pelicans, again other than Lonzo I don't think any of those players move the needle and if a small market like NO wants to be successful, they'll need a couple players that move the needle for them.

Tatum moves the needle. So if they can get Tatum for Davis, then that's what they ought to do imo

Moving him before hand only benefits the Lakers and nobody else, not to mention their offer isn't all that from our point of view.

Ingram starts off well once again and Luke has no desire to play to his strengths. Basically forgets about him.

Bigger news might be that the unprotected 2021 pick from Miami that the Clippers got from the Sixers is a pretty good damn asset to apply in a trade for someone.....

Watched the first half of Lakers vs Pacers and the two things that I thought were problems for LA were:

- Kuzma and Ingram can score from isolation plays (esp Ingram), but they don't click well with the team. You add to this that LeBron plays like Blake Griffin, an immobile point-forward, and there's just not enough movement and chemistry in that Lakers offense.

- The Lakers are lazy / unwilling to defend the perimeter. Too many guys fancy themselves as some kind of rim protectors in defense, looking especially at LeBron and Kuzma here. Understandable that the actual centers stay mostly near the paint. The Pacers were getting plenty of open threes but also driving and passing opportunities.


In other news, I see that Kawhi made just three field goals last night but scored 16 from the line, kinda crazy.

And Philly have an amazing starting five now but even less of a bench. Will be interesting to see how they do.

LeBron has just come off the worst injury of his career. I’d say it’s understandable he’s off. Also neither him or Blake is immobile.

Our offense is the problem. None of the players’ fault. The coaches have never practiced offense with the team. They’re in record saying that every year through training camp.

I’ve had that problem for ever since D’antoni. And no one wants to actually implement any offense.

We keep hiring these no good coaches because they were former players...

You compare Lebron and Griffin to normal point-players in the league and they both are immobile. Maybe it's not a problem for the Lakers, but their offense did seem too stationary to me.

Anyone else think that Boston aren't making the most of their assets? Philly are scraping the barrel and still landing big players while Boston are just sitting on their assets.

They are sitting because of Davis, it's pretty simple unless they can trade someone for more assets they won't do it.

Which they are right to do, Davis is literally the reason they've been stockpiling assets to begin with lol.

If that means they don't win this year then so be it.

And what are the Sixers making moves for? Only to lose to the Great BLUE and GOLD in the finals, of course.
