Re: General Games Discussion
Yeah not sure why they did that lol.
World building i guess? But it's pretty obvious they didn't have any plans to let you explore those areas until the sequel.
Something to look forward to though i guess.

Re: General Games Discussion
I read somewhere a while back, that they had planned on making DLC for the game, but changed their mind during development. I'm not sure whether it's true or not, though. Tried to go through my browser history and find the webpage where I read it, but I lost patience and gave up

Re: General Games Discussion
I think the game felt so complete that they probably decided against it. Not sure what they would explore?
Just excited for the sequel. Probably for PS5

The lead dev said he had plans for DLC but they told him it was too much work so it never happened

Re: General Games Discussion
Hoping to start seeing some Days Gone stuff the next week or so. I'm likely getting it, but it honestly depends on reviews. I think it's going to be decent but if the reviews are like 7/10 ain't nobody got time for that

Re: General Games Discussion
Not sure what you're expecting lol, it will be an 8-8.5 max.
Also not sure why reviews of a game would change you're mind if you've been looking forward to it all this time either.

Re: General Games Discussion
It's usually best to watch gameplay videos and make up your own opinion based on reading reviews, rather than use average scores as the only credible source of information on a game. A lot of scores on Metacritic seem to be influenced by brainless fanboys who haven't necessarily played the game yet, or nonsensical haters who may not necessarily have played the game at all Even some critic scores are influenced by effing feminist agenda knobs.

Reason they did that is because Nordic mythology has nine realms. It's pretty well known. The Bifrost not having rest of the realms would be a plothole.

Yep, i honestly care very little about reviews. I mainly just post them for banter.
My opinion on a game basically is set in stone long before it's released if I'm excited about it and a sub 70 review isn't changed that.

Re: General Games Discussion
I agree. Tales of Berseria sits at 79% on Metacritic, and I thought it was a surprisingly good game for it's type. I know for a fact that nowadays, many people consider less than 85% not worth their time.

Re: General Games Discussion
Hoping the story will be good otherwise I agree the gameplay doesn't look promising.
Re: General Games Discussion
This is weird, because the gameplay looked better in the previous content drops (previews i think)
So either their using old footage to talk over the game or the gameplay regressed lol.

Been working + studying 13-14 hours a day so picked up something quick I thought I could play for 15-20 minutes to destress a bit in between study sessions. Got Celeste. Huge mistake, don't think I've been able to put it down in less than 45 minutes every time.

Re: General Games Discussion
Astonished this game is getting the hype it has to this day and only can be due to its exclusivity and some obvious bells and whistles. Otherwise I am failing to see anything remarkable about this game in such a competitive era for Playstation 4 outside a mindless zombie shooter.
Zombies are a done concept given they are literally a prime excuse to have sub-par AI. This isn't 2013 anymore.

Re: General Games Discussion
so..after Days Gone (still think it could get absolutely shat on, but that's what's interesting me, I could see anything from fantastic reviews to The Order tier shit)
is there anything else remotely interesting this year? I haven't heard of it if so

Re: General Games Discussion
The Outer Worlds in August. If you are a Yakuza fan, then Judgement in June. Mortal Kombat is coming out this month too. Doom Eternal, Control, and Wolfenstein Youngblood confirmed for this year.
Holding out hope that one of TLOU 2, Ghost Of Tsushima, Death Stranding is released this year. Expect some games to be announced at E3 like Watch Dogs and Splinter Cell.
This year is gonna be weaker than the last two for sure.

Re: General Games Discussion
Hopefully it will be the first good Star Wars game released by EA
There's a tonne of pedigree behind it, i just worry about EA messing the dev team about.

Re: General Games Discussion
A new galactic adventure awaits you in Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.
Take on the role of a Padawan Jedi in this heavily story driven single player adventure.
You will find yourself fighting in intense and spectacular lightsaber duels and unleashing the powers of the Force.
Star Wars fans will recognise unmistakable localities, weapons, equipment and foes.
Some info has leaked, although it's very vague and it doesn't tell much.
I suspect we'll get more this afternoon as that's when they release the trailer.

Re: General Games Discussion
watching some lengthy leaked stuff from Days Gone since ppl have it early
still on the fence, I think the story driven open world zombie stuff def appeals to me but it does look a bit sketchy, gunplay is traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash, I see it hitting high 70s to very low 80s on metacritic, it looks like Watch Dogs 1 type shit to me with a more interesting story and setting (despite zombie apocalypse being generic af now)

Re: General Games Discussion
Said before the game will live and die by the story and how threatening the Zombies feel.
If it feels like you're constantly under threat, as most open world games fail to do tbh. Plus the story is good then it will be a very good game.
If it fails to do those things then it might be bargain bin material.

Re: General Games Discussion
I think I'll enjoy it tbh. Just not sure about full price. We'll see. So long as reviews don't eviscerate the game, I'm getting it I think. I like the human outpost sytem and the feel of the world from what I've seen.
