Arsenal Vs Leicester
Well...we could go 3rd and 2 points off the top if we win this.
Leicester are always dangerous on the counter and have goals in them so they will be a tough match.

So if we win 21 from 9 matches would be most points since 13/14

Re: Arsenal Vs Leicester
Team:
Leno; Bellerin, Mustafi, Holding, Lichtsteiner; XHAKA, Torreira; Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Iwobi; Lacazette
Subs: Martinez, Medley, Guendouzi, Smith Rowe, Ramsey, Welbeck, Aubameyang
Don't know what's happened to Monreal and Kolasinac. Medley on the bench for the first time.

Re: Arsenal Vs Leicester
Monreal has a tight hamstring. Kolasinac apparently didn't train yesterday, so probably has an injury as well. Sokratis came back from international duty with a bruised ankle.
18-year-old Medley is our only defensive cover.

Re: Arsenal Vs Leicester
slow start again sigh.
For the life of me I just don't get why we have to be so timid and slow in the final third.
At least we responded well to the goal, let's hope we take that momentum into the whole of the second half.

Yea he was decent at LB but then again that was when we were in the ascendancy.
He crumbles under pressure unfortunately.

Captain Mesut
ultimately another poor 1st half followed by much better 2nd half
some good stuff but also lucky not to go down again before subs

Re: Arsenal Vs Leicester
Thing is though...teams like Liverpool would actually score all those chances these smaller teams miss.
I don't think we can be lucky against bigger teams. But as we said before. Doesn't matter if we drop points against top 3-4 teams. As long as we win our other games we should be strong contenders for 4th.
But of course PL is coming home. 2 points off the top.

Re: Arsenal Vs Leicester
Despite the crap first half, this wasn't a lucky win. So that's something.
We started slow and really struggled to get Mkhitaryan into the game. Leciester's shape was very good, and they were sharper to the ball than we were.
I think part of the problem was that Lichtsteiner was limited in his passing by being on the wrong side of the pitch. We couldn't create the same angles we would with Monreal there, so it was harder to circulate the ball in Leicester's half.
Once we started favouring the right hand side, we looked more dangerous. Ozil and Lacazette shifted over to that side and put some great combinations together. This helped get Bellerin into the game, and he made the first goal.
Second half, Emery makes the bold choice of taking off Lichtsteiner and moving XHAKA to left back. XHAKA had no winger to go against him, and his passing really helped us get attacks started (see: that wonderful third goal). This allowed us to get Guendouzi on as well. We were able to move the ball much better after that, with Guendouzi, Torreira and XHAKA forming triangles. It created all sorts of space for our attackers.
So yet again, Emery has proven he can change the game with some smart subs. Now if only we could start well from the beginning.

Re: Arsenal Vs Leicester
We did have a few decisions go our way though, so there was an element of luck in the mix.
Holding's handball, on another day, could've been a second yellow and a penalty. Leicester also hit the post once. We just had that tiny bit going for us in key moments like that.
