Re: Cyberpunk 2077
My only worry is that i can't stand furutistic games. Games like Deus Ex, mass effect and Watchdogs really put me off.
If this wasn't done by this studio i probably would skip it too.

Yeah but you didn't play the Original Mass Effect trilogy though did you, i would be surprised if you didn't like it tbh.
Certain games just transcend genres.

Hardly remember what story games were after I've played them.

As long as sex scenes are in third person. I'm not one for POV there.

Speaking of which
Can't wait to *bleep* Cyborg's, cracked up on acid.
Also there’s full frontal nudity and you can take people back to your apartment for a one night stand, if you fancy it

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
IDK why people have so much issues with the game being a FPS, it makes no difference to me. Either way I think it makes more sense for it to be first person because shooting guns from that perspective is more fun while it made more sense for Witcher to be in 3rd person since sword fighting is more fun the other way. There's also the fact that in first person the gameplay is more immersive and you can appreciate the amount of detail way more. Seeing your character from 3rd person in dialouge and cutscenes is enough.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Tbf it's understandable, when you come from the Witcher 3 you have certain expectations on what that developer is supposed to deliver.
I'm just glad that cutscenes and driving is 3rd person ( well the driving is optional) if i'm having all this customize options i want to kind of see that character.
I would be a lot more concerned if the cutscenes were first person too.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
We saw V plunge a dude’s head into a cooler box and blow his brains out from behind, blast off another man’s limbs, pump some kind of skill enhancing future drug into her system, pick up naked dead bodies, stare at a mutilated corpse and use the kind of language that would make a navvy blush. One choice piece of dialogue? “Cleaner than a *bleep* in a covenant.”
Wow

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
i dont love FPS games period + open world game to me = 3rd person. This is a departure, the first time i feel compelled to get a game because the witcher 3 was so good, and i trust the developper, even if it's a first person game. it's day one for sure, specially because i know they will nail it.
dont get me wrong i played and enjoyed skyrim, and games like COD, battlefield, far cry, others im sure im forgetting, but they never sounded like "i need to get this" game before.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
They are First Person Shooters though, I agree with you I'm just saying there's a big difference between the likes of Battlefield and RPGs from a first person perspective.
Honestly if you are worried watch this, I genuinely don't think it's going to be a problem.
Saving that I'm sure when eventually show gameplay it will quell concerns.
Saying that I don't blame you for feeling the way you do, it's clearly not what most expected.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
It looks in many way similar to Deus Ex (concept-wise).
I am definitely very interested. See you in 1-2 years maybe?

1 year could be defined as soon and still be in line with Spencer's time line.
IMO earliest will be May Next year and latest will be early 2020.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I don't see many similarities to Deus EX apart from the upgradeable limbs, to be honest. <- I just realized how Mole-ish a sentence that was
The settings don't seem very similar, apart from both being futuristic and sci-fi. For some reason, I was never a huge fan of Deus Ex's setting. I do like steampunk and the Bladerunner- style cyberpunk setting a lot, though. It's more of a 80s-90s type of sci-fi future, which I think is substantially different.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
There's obvious comparisons to Deus Ex there always will be tbh considering they are both games which have heavy Blade Runner inspiration set in a dystopian future.
But I honestly feel like those comparisons will be very minimal when it comes down to it.
The information released so far makes it seem like the game plays differently, the themes of the game seem different and I feel like the story will feel different.

Hmm I'm not sure about little numbers popping up for damage, I hope this feature is an on/off thing.

I imagine it will be, a lot of games have that in their games and it's almost always an option to turn it off.
I would be very surprised if you can't.

Right here's a link with all the articles and interviews about it.

If you want to read it then go ahead, I'm just going to leave it here and go completely dark until they undoubtedly release another trailer which makes me go completely obsessive again.

because they want to time the official hype, when they know the release date of the game.
First images of gameplay are important to build hype. It's always the first showing that gets most views. So if they release now and the game doesn't come out in the next 12 months, a lot of people will forget about it.

I don't blame them tbh, every time there's even a slight issue with public demo's the general public goes absolutely mental and acts like the game is coming out tomorrow.
Media on average understands that it's a work in progress more and accepts it's not a finished product.
I guarantee if they released to the public people would be outraging the minute something doesn't look right as it happens all the time.
As amazing as I'm sure it is I doubt it runs completely smooth enough for public consumption.

I mean you guys should see the reaction on reddit to first person and no night time footage.
Imagine the reaction if the game wasn't running how you'd expect a game to run.... Yeah.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Yeah I've been lurking on the Cyberpunk game subreddit and mainly it's cancer and prickly assholes barking all over the place. I heard they want to start a petition to make the game 3rd person instead of FPS lol
Those people are absolute melts imo. I genuinely cringe reading through these comments.
Also I agree that it's most likely too soon to show any gameplay,\ since there's a long way to go still until the release but I would kill for a glimpse of it tbh
