Sorry for the title gore.
We've seen it happen before Ozil in '10, Rodriguez in '14, it almost certainly happens in every big tournament so it will likely happen again.
Which young player can you imagine stand out in this tournament?

Sergej for Serbia
Serbia vs Brazil is the last matchday group game for both teams, got a feeling its going to be BIG for him.

All the french players are now very well known lol... but if there's an unfortunate injury at RB or CB, Pavard is one to watch.
Despite a disastrous showing for PSG aganst Barca, Lo Celso is very talented. I'd watch him too. He's truly very good. Played out of position as a DM in that game.

Pavon, Lo Celso from Argentina. Though the latter is definitely starting to get more known. Tagliafico isn't that young but I think he will impress this WC as well.

Hirving Lozano from Mexico.
basically my recipe is simple, there is not much time to shine in a world cup, so any young player starting for his NT who is a speed demon will wow most people

Bump
Not many young players shining through in this tournament
Lozano was impressive in the group stage but thats about it
Yerry Mina was good for Colombia
Bentancur was ok-ish , hardly set he world slight. Guys like Werner were very disappointing.
MBappè came with huge baggage either ways and has delivered to a certain extent.
But i think Benjamin Pavard is probably the breakout young star of this tournament. Relatively unknown. Wasn't even expected to be a starter had Sidibe not got injured and now has all but surely cemented his RB spot for France with impressive performances. Scored one of the goals of the tournament too.

For France, Pavard and Lucas Hernandez... Pavard especially. Both have been immense.
For the tournament, the England keeper has been very good. I like Ante Rebic of Croatia a lot too. Other than that, not much in terms of surprises.

The Russian/ Brazillian fullback Mario Fernandez has been exceptional in his position, more than Pavard if you ask me.
