I think we can all agree that we've limped our way to the final. I suppose we have PSG to thank for waking Ronaldo up from his slumber because it was that game thatsl spurned this run on. Still we've been giving up chances after chances. We are treating these games like LaLiga teams on the pitch and talking big off it.
When Ronaldo defends better than your midfielders you know there really is something wrong with the players
Fix it fast or we'll get destroyed by Liverpool/Roma

The Demon of Carthage wrote:Liverpool with Salah and their incessant pressing? I'm afraid no amount of luck is going to save us. We have to bleed for the white of Madrid if we want to win.
The complacency we saw against Bayern and Juventus must vanish against Liverpool, otherwise there's no chance of winning the trophy and making history and a potential unbroken and timeless record.

So I'm just curious, did Zidane play the Zidiamond again? Watching highlights and it's definitely looking like it.

I keep thinking that Kroos is useless, that's my unpopular opinion.the good he brings doesn't outweight the negative anymore

If it weren't for Ramos and Varane, we would have been steamrolled off the park and Zidane would be making his "I am leaving at the end of the season" speech.

Keep in mind we play 3 players in midfield who if they played in another team as AM no one would complain. Those guys are not defensive players but they are putting in the work

let's just be happy another final. i'm happy for benzema, i expect those 2 goals to get his stock up and raise interest among other european clubs. now let's win the bloody thing, i didn't like our defending but ive never liked our defending throughout this tournament, yet somehow we manage to pull a rabbit out the hat......now let's get the big ears

You need a red to get suspended iirc.
Yellows are reset after quarters.
That's what happened with Bonucci last year, he got yellow in both and still played

Re: Bayern Munich Vs Real Madrid | UCL Semi first leg
History has a nasty habit of repeating itself.
Depending on which side of history you're on, such turns are a blessing or a curse.
I don't remember if it was Anelka or Zidane that started it but I do remember this tidbit of our history.
if a frenchman scores for Real Madrid in the semifinals, We end up going all the way to win it. and that tidbit of history has been repeated time and time again.
The moment Benzema scored I knew how this tie would end up. History after all sure likes to repeat itself more often than not. and unfortunately for bayern and whomever we face of liverpool/roma, the history of Real Madrid has a nasty tendency to bring home the gold.
Cant wait to see that 13th trophy added to the collection. Benz fulfilled the requirement for history to repeat itself. Maybe the magic of Salah could break the chains of destiny but the history of Real Madrid is greater than any one man or team for that matter. History shall repeat.
Hala madrid.

Re: Bayern Munich Vs Real Madrid | UCL Semi first leg
I'm going to continue on the pessimism train and say we have little chance against Liverpool. Let's pray for a 3-0 win for Roma tomorrow.
We were torn apart on the wings against Bayern. Liverpool's wingplay is 3 times better than Bayern's.
Everyone is going to be rooting against us in the final, and I can't really blame them. This Liverpool team is some of the most exciting football I have seen in years.

nope that's a desperate stat. i can't remember any frenchman scoring in our semi final against atleti, i don't remember karembeu scoring in our semis in 98 (i think he was the only french player on our team that year), neither varane nor benzema scored against city in 2016.....so nope that "stat" doesn't compute

Zidane scored in 2002 in the semis v Barcelona. Anelka scored in the semis vs Bayern in 2000. But that is barely anything other than a stat but it's cool, we are in another final, would allow it.

aw shit i forgot about karembeu. well i guess u forgot the benz goal against bayern some years back to set us on the right path. also an assist against another team whos name im forgetting. but thats fine history often repeats regardless of awareness. in fact thats usually the case one can also say that this also lea
desperate? Were u not convinced of our triumph?
Madrid has a history of endurance. we will struggle more often than not. Our future opponents stand no chance against us. we've disposed of every pretender that dared to challenge our throne.
i think u need to be reminded of which team we are discussing here. We are the standard. we set the standard. everyone else tries to keep up. yes we're playing poorly. but take a good look at our cl campaign: even if we play to lose, we cant lose. our opposition is so terrible that they're incapable of taking advantage of our awful play.
and if our top rivals are incapable of overcoming us in our off days... what hope do they have against us on our good days? none, because they weren't good enough to begin with.
we are still in our golden age. we've lost the league and the cdr but once we retain the cl yet again, the world will be reminded once again that Real Madrid are still the best team in the world. and we're setting a new record befitting the team that is the best. we shall retain our cl crown, and our rivals howl lamentations into the night cursing our names while deep their hearts they wish their team was as glorious as Real Madrid.
We shall triumph. be it against liverpool ot roma we shall triumph. never underestimate the history and the quality of this legendary team.
Zidane deserves much credit for taking us this far yet again. I actually expected the cons of the golden age to ruin our chances of silverware this year but here we are defying complacency.
we must build on this and prepare.
Re: Bayern Munich Vs Real Madrid | UCL Semi first leg
i'm very convinced about the triumph. and extremely delighted, i wished it was the final instead of semis, to help me put this terrible liga season behind me...what i mean is that the whole 'french player scoring in semis and winning ucl' is a desperate search for a correlation (which is something the spanish media loves, they would have jumped on that asap if it were so)

Hey Turok Your boy did it again for the second straight second leg cl semi final.
Hopefully Zidane rests players against Barcelona and for the rest of league appropriately so as to avoid any injuries. Varane for example should not be stretched, lots of our players have a CL final and WC finals coming up so i'm sure we'll be careful.
I hope Zidane starts analyzing well how we're going to play against whoever we go up against in the final and that we practice and rehearse in training, etc. No half measures.

My question is, is chad ever coming back? If he's not back now, he will probably never come back, right?
He's gotta be lurking the forums at least

what happened to chad? im very busy nowadays so its been months since i visited this place. i just came back after the quarter finals.,.? dont have the free time like i used to. can only visit sparingly.
in any case our road to the final will be very interesting. Hopefully nobody gets injured from now on. we need to start showing positive performances in the league to build momentum for the cl final.

Re: Bayern Munich Vs Real Madrid | UCL Semi first leg
Kova should be a starter for the time being, i think he did really well with how things turned out tactically with him and Kroos being tasked to cover way too much space due to Modric playing as RB.
Case has been so bad recently, i hope he wakes up soon because we could really use him against Liverpool in the final.
Happy for Benz, the yearly big match where he shows up big and secures his position for another season.

Will Dani be ready for final? I forgot how long he is supposed to be out. We have three and a half weeks before final.
Come to think of it, he better be as we need him on seleccion which starts right after CL final.
Those worrying about remaining liga games, it’s only 4 games over next 3 weeks.

From when he got injured the diagnostic was 2-3 weeks so he should be back at least 1 week before the final.
