I’m happy with choice but at same time I’m pissed at Flo for not holding off until WC is over and also at federation for insisting they had to fire Lopetegui. They have blown our WC chance. Hierro was our local team coach a year and was awful!

if you want the coach to have any input on signings you can't wait till world cup is over, there are many teams with money and very little time

I banter with Bill and others... but at the end of the day, I always want the best teams, the best players and the no injuries for all competitions.  This was utter nonsense by the Spanish Federation.  I honestly thought nobody could be as incompetent as the French Federation... maybe I was wrong?

The problem with this thinking that now we can start planning is that all of the players at the WC are untouchable. The WC has officially began and that will be their focus.

If this was 2 weeks ago or even a week ago we could have started the process, but these deals take time and I think 90% of the negotiations will have to pause for now.

He tried to implement a high line with an unmotivated squad, that was his biggest problem. We couldn't cope with any kind of counter attack from any team. The Attack was worse and teams were able to attack without worrying about defensive numbers at the back.

Lopetuigi would have been better if we were to start a new era with motivated young players at his hands. He is not suited to lead older players who are not motivated to run and implement this counter press which is integral part of his game plan.

the players have also been extraordinarily poor. Not a single one has been great so far this season, that includes modric, Kroos, Marcelo, Ramos, etc... a it like last season in la liga actually.

What has Lope shown to warrant this kinda defense? man failed horribly at Porto and became meme among Portuguese fans. Then he lead a stacked Spain NT for 2 years to... WC qualification? getting your players to give 100% is part of your job too.

The only "merit" he has had are with Spanish NT's, teams that already had the foundation for the way he plays. So how much credit can you really give the guy when he hasn't shown he can implement this football he's praised for outside teams that already had the foundation for it?

Exactly Zees, just throw this numpty out. He is not good enough, never was. Porto had their biggest investment in their squad ever and still he managed to *bleep* that up. Probably the reason why we didn't spend anything, he learned that if he spends too much and it goes south he is f*cked

i did not say he is faultless, i said he also takes a lot of blame for the poor form of the team. Ultimately i think he is making mistakes with his line ups, choices of players, subs, and tactically and we are very far from what he wanted this team to play like.

Players are to blame for it, and he as well.

I think today is not on Lope. In any other season this kind of game would have been an it wasn't meant to be game. I mean we hit the woodwork four times, had a goal rightfully disallowed and had an iffy penalty call against us. Alot of huffing and puffing without reault. Modric would be one of the first ones I drop. Ceballos should be one of the firsts on the team sheet along with Isco. Asensio and Courtois would be out and I'd play a 442. Lope needs to be brave right now, make the right calls or the clasico could be his last game wirh us

his biggest mistake was planning. the job is demanding, the president and the club ask a lot of the coach, as a result, i have also believed the coach should in turn ask a lot of the club. saying the right thing at press conferences, when you know you need a better squad, has never worked at madrid, and i don't know why all our coaches keep towing that mantra

if you're a manager who is obsessed or primarily focused on certain tactical nuances, then you should already have a list of players that you want who fit what you want to do. and you put some pressure on your board to get those players, not win fan points by telling us how you like the anthem

he doesn't have the players he needs, and isn't in a position to make switches, because guess what, news flash people; most of the back ups are either still in diapers or not good enough. i hope he doesn't get sacked, cos there are many issues that go with that, which i don't feel like commenting on right now. but if he does, i hope we don't hear a "the president didn't give me what i want" interview. because all his pressers have been in praise of florentino's and the club's policy

i'm tired of managers saying the right thing when its the opposite. you'll get fired regardless if you lose, so you might as well put yourself in the best position to win, and make your demands....anyway, that to me was his biggest mistake. he is handcuffed with the squad he has, and has to hope from an unlikely miracle or from someone to step up. a sack shouldn't be the answer, should be the LAST resort

not scoring is one thing, conceding so many goals is something else.

as much as i dislike it the formula that we will go back to, is a coach like Conte who is aggressive with the players and his boss and that will get here and get what he wants.

its madrid, madrid has always been about player power, a lot of "tactical" minds have come to madrid and have been poor at instilling their plans here, which is why i get worried when we discuss coaches and feel they can just bring their "beautiful" football here. but in this case its not player power, this is a case of squad overhauling, which should have been done at least a few years ago.

and trust me, a big fear of mine is having another manager coming in to paper the cracks and the following year rather than sign players, we decide to promote another set of children and flo tells us how great the squad is.

all big clubs have always been about player power; united fans used to brag that they were an exception until ferguson left and we saw it reveal itself. its why you can't sleep on what people on here categorize as a 'motivational coach'....but the situation now is not even about player power at all, at least not in my eyes.
