The Snowman (2017)

I have seen better mystery stories on Scooby Doo than this pile of trash

The Dolemite film that's in the works is gathering steam. Has Eddie Murphy as the lead, playing the creator of the character. Wesley Snipes is involved as is Keegan-Michael Key and Craig Robinson.

Good start.

@Realgunner watched Blockers yet? Cena’s first comedy lead role. It’s pretty good.

Captain Phillips (2013)

Great film. Tom Hanks in the last 5 minutes....wow. Can tell why he is an all time great actor. That scene was just brilliant.

Also loved Muse in the film. The dynamic between him and Tom Hanks

"There's gotta be something other than being a fisherman and kidnapping people."
"Maybe in America, Irish. Maybe in America."

Its one of my favorite movies ever, Hanks acting was unreal, especially in that ending scene.

Sicario 2 was great, not as good as the first one, but still great. Another great performance by Del Toro

They clearly did not learn from the King Arthur reboot.

Finally watched A Quiet Place.

Best film I've watched all year. My ass has not been so clenched since Dunkirk, probably more so.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

I actually watched it last saturday but needed a week to digest it and form an opinion.

I personally don't think it was a great film. I think it was quite badly edited. 30 minutes of scenes should have been cut at least. They were pointless. There was only enough times you had to see how shallow the characters were and how much cocaine they could sniff. Scenes felt repetetive without adding anything to it. I mean a film nearly 3 hours long couldn't develop any characters bar 2? Specially coming from someone who made goodfellas. I know it's a biography based on the real Jordan Belfort but it often felt like a parody. But I loved the humour which i thought was great. Leo was incredible along with Jonah Hill. Rest of the characters were cliche and nothing you wouldn't have seen before.

The film was entertaining enough to keep watching and also the sense of intrigue as how belfort's demise would come upon. Some of the scenes were classic scorcese. It's strange how he can make a film of different genres but still have similar style of scenes. I think Di Caprio was the reason the film worked. Without him i am not sure i would have liked it at all.

Doubt i'll willingly ever see this again.
