So it's official. As I said, I dont give a damn about the price & I'm glad we were kinda able to fill up the void that Neymar left behind him. It's an exciting transfer.

In todays market I'd say you got it nice, especially if the add ons are attainable, since fullfilling the requirements for add ons means you got a good player...

You had no choice tbf, there is no viable ready made Neymar replacement.

Name any preferable forward and I'll tell you why it would have been worse. Signing someone like Dembele is the best course of action.

You're too fixated on the price. Everyone in the world knew that Barca was rich with funds due to the Neymar transfer. You had no leverage or position in the market to work with.

I understand being upset about 40M for Paulinho, but Dembele should be a player to be excited for. You've immediately added potency to your attack. Dembele won't be a scrub in any sense.

Why didnt we just get mbappe in the first place? Has a higher ceiling, guarantees goals, is younger and is cheaper? Apparently, psg are smarter it seems.

Because you have Suarez and Dembele is a much better fit for the LW.

Secondly he won't be cheaper, I can accept he's the only real alternative which you could have gone for.

Fact is both he and Dembele have one great season and therefore both are "risks" but when it comes to players like this you have to take these risks.

Those complaining about the risk and money remind me of those who claimed Neymar would flop because never done it in Europe etc etc.

Every young player is a risk at some point.

Fair point great leader. Maybe we are too hard on him. Its just that i feel barca could have done more. Shift messi deeper and sign up griezmann and use him and a second striker along with suarez. He's world class, more experienced, guarantees goals and cheaper too.

Mbappe is as unproven as Dembele and has been linked to PSG for 180M so he would definitely not be cheaper.

The only ones who make sense in this thread are not Barca fans.

Nice to see Banks still be a Barca fan after all this. Really thought he would have defected by now. Mbappe and Dembele would have been equally ideal so it's not like it's any less of a loss to "miss out" on Kylian.

Griezmann would have essentially put way too much pressure on Alba to provide width since the former is no way shape or form, a winger. Alba already does not drop back quick enough so he would have been constantly exposed to the elements. Dembele make sense in that regard.

It is a very good signing, not actually ideal on the method but at this point, the Barca board is all about the ends justifying the means. I do not blame Barca fans for constantly being skeptical on everything that is happening but it's a good signing.

The fee might be somewhat inflated due to the circumstances (late in the window, the Neymar affair with its money and pressure influx, Dembélés behaviour).

But apart from that noone that watched Dembélé for about 15 minutes last season can be surprised that he would be one to go for crazy money.

You can see immediately he's not just your usual super talent. He's the real deal.
People were joking how he would go from BVB to Bayern, but us Bayern fans (let's not forget we were close to signing before he went to BVB him too) knew pretty soon after the season had started that he would be the kind of player who would be dealt in a class above our transfer dealings.

I just thought it would all go down next summer, as without the Neymar mess he would have stayed another year and next summer crazy money would have been spent on him.
