Just cause he is a decent ball playing defender doesn't mean he is a good midfielder. This is like Playing Pique or Vermaelen in midfield because they are good on the ball. What happen Anderson ??

Just cause he is a decent ball playing defender doesn't mean he is a good midfielder. This is like Playing Pique or Vermaelen in midfield because they are good on the ball. What happen Anderson ??

Jones is a natural center back as well as a natural defensive midfielder. That's a fact a lot of fans know before he joined United. Like I said, he did play in midfield before for United and he was pretty impressive that I think his first goal came because he played in that position.

Anderson? not good enough. Did you see the game just now? Even Giggs, who replaced Anderson and like fcking 70 years old, tackled better than him in that game.

Awful post. Jones doesn't have the technical ability or trickery to play like them, don't even compare him to Dembele.

No he doesn't. Please do not even compare him with Dembele again. Jones has only played in two games for us in central midfield (QPR and Wolves).

Not really, this is his first poor game in quite a while, to be honest...

I still remember the dark period when United had to rely on counterattacks to win games because the midfield trio in Fletcher, Carrick, and Scholes did provide almost no defense and barely any possession in the center of the field. And then there is that second half of last season... uh.... The defensive problem in midfield goes way back a number of seasons already since Ronaldo's departure.

I'm sorry Dutti but you're overrating Jones slightly too much. He's not technically sound and should not get anywhere near a midfield role. His first touch is predictable and loose. You need to have good close control in the midfield. Being able to dribble forward pass defenders shouldn't even be a criteria for a defensive midfielder. Leave that to the wingers. That's why in that period when he was playing CM for us, we could barely keep the ball. He even played a match for England in midfield LOL

Don't rate him as a CB too, Smalling is way better. RB? Nah, he just go on this stupid long runs with the ball without considering other options. Some that created goals but most of the time gave the ball away.

I'll admit his standard has dropped but from what I remember of him in his debut season, he was fantastic. I don't believe a young player who did amazingly in his debut season can just lose many of his abilities in just a season or two.

Chelsea has a massive hard on for Belgium players, we are signing Belgium players left and right, the two Belgium we could really use is either Dembele and Witsel and we show no interest in them.
