We can't play like a big team tbf, we have *bleep* all technique in the team and that's not really his fault as our best technical players are the ones he's signed.

We have to play like this, it's not exactly fun but i'm not going to blame Benitez when half the team ( that were there before he became manager) can hardly control a football.

A team like Huddersfield are better on the counter, anyway. Banking up and denying them space is the best way to play them.

It's been a Championship-standard game, though. Lots of crosses and no quality midfield play.

That will have an effect.. Wembley is better than London stadium, no doubt, but West Ham suffered.

Let's observe whether Spurs will play a comparably worse season due to this.

Anyway looking for positive rays of hope, thought Merino looked really good in the second half and Joselu has to start as we looked much better ( not hard mind) as a team when he came on as he can actually control a football.

I don't think we will, a lot of people overreact early on when the first 10 games mean *bleep* all tbh.

I still think our organisation at the back combined with the bottom half being utter dogshit will see us staying up.

It won't be as comfortable as it should have been but obviously Ashley had to *bleep* everything up.

I say this with the disclaimer that if Rafa goes we are certainties mind.

If i'm Rafa i do make a few changes though, some of them don't deserve to start atm IMO.

Not expensive in any case.

I remember he came highly rated to BVB after he had GOATED somewhere in Segunda. I remember his transfer was announced at the very moment when Oliver Torres to BVB was reported as happening - Di Fraudzio claimed it was done dealio. Next think you know, BVB sign a Spanish youngster not named Torres.

I actually think some of the high expectations I had of him came rubbed off from having Torres in the back of my mind

He couldn't really cut it at Dortmund though. The few games he started, he played central defense I think, when they had their usual defense injury crisis.
But he looked shaky.

He can come good of course; his talent is not in doubt when Dortmund's scouts picked him. His overall perspective is in doubt though when BVB let him go like that.

I heard Dortmund tried him as a CB though?

In any case i have been happy with him so far, he seems the only midfielder we have who can control a football under pressure
