Marcelo would probably be first choice in about 5 different positions at Liverpool let's be honest here.

Accoring to LEquipe, Oblak is at the top of the list for PSG as they wish to bring in an elite GK.

Trapp and Areola are thus on the market

Guys everyone knows Marcelo isn't a good defender at all as his praise from Real Madrid fans or globally is what he brings in attack, if not overall in influence for his club.

Example is Erik Karlsson of NHL for Ottawa is a hit and miss defender but his overall influence and the difference he makes for his team is outstanding, as Marcelo nowadays is barely expected to defend for Real given his marauding forays into the midfield and box as such freedom and implicit trust is given to him.

Real's coachs have maximised on his strengths so well that his defensive frailties (which are many) are worth the risk and Carlo and Zidane have banked upon with that, with fruitful results.

Perspective matters.

We will see how good of a defender Marcelo is in the CL final when Cuadrado and Dani Alves totally expose him for 90 minutes.
