In what field? In politics i consider Noam Chomsky as my intellectual mentor, even though his main expertise is Linguistics, he's well studied in political history, his views on imperialism are well known too.

when he was younger he was wrapped in all sorts of evolutionary psychology beliefs as well, which made his views come off as hard-headed

i remember there was a debate between him and Foucault in the 70s, and Foucault absolutely crushed him. Since then Chomsky has taken on more social constructionist rhetoric which makes him a more sophisticated political analyst in modern times.

Peterson is a fantastic mind quite frankly and has helped a lot of young frustrated mine who've grown up without any guidance or leadership.

Problem is it also attracts the wrong types of men who uses what he says as confirmation bias for their own internalised reality and externalised nonsense.

So yes incels will be broadcasted more here akin to ultra-left wingers in the media but from the most part I've witnessed a lot helped by his readings or teachings without using it for their own possibly rubbish agenda.

Dunking on college students and Twitter idiots, discussing complex political and philosophical concepts with uninformed journalists and Youtube personalities, and overall staying in a self-contained bubble where their views are never seriously challenged by serious academics.

Watch his debate with Slavoj Zizek if you want to see how little grasp he has on the ideas that he's trying to dismantle. A favorite part of mine is when Zizek asks him to name a post-modernist neo-Marxist (The "bad guys" who are trying to ruin western civilization according to JP) and JP fails to name a single one Laughing

Anyone who shows any right wing leanings or attacks the left is going to be crucified by the media.

The issue is guys like Peterson and Tate target the disenfranchised youth as their audience. Tate went from being an obscure, funny grifter on Twitter to being the most searched person on the planet because he went viral on tiktok. Unfortunately a lot of young men are directionless and no one cares about them, so they go ahead and listen to their rhetoric. The problem is they’re pipelines to further right wing thinking.

It’s funny because my younger cousin is in high school and he told me all the high school boys love Tate. He was telling me how they started going to the gym and started working jobs because of him. Peterson got memed for saying you should clean your room, but honestly some guys need that basic level of advice. It’s truly amazing how many young men lack any real masculine guidance.

There will be a new controversial speaker who will pop up onto the scene and he’ll use the same arguments Peterson and Tate did. He’ll gain a large following. He’ll then be deplatformed because he gets too political. The wheel will keep spinning until something is done to help disenfranchised young men.

The last line really is true why the guru culture of these men will only grow from here as new style parenthood is more a laissez-faire style of it but seemingly those men grow up to head the weak guidance given to them and therefore jump onto people like Tate and what not.

But my problem is how incensed people are that Ronaldo is even thinking of seeking advice from JPB, given his views simply are not a threat to their reality, for if it is, its just plain sad. Or they just don't have a life.

You can say a lot of negative things about Joe Rogan, but a "know-nothing" he is not. Peterson is, in fact, a clinical psychologist. It's his public speaker persona that pretends to be so much more than that. From what little I know about Andrew Tate, he seems to be a pathological liar who's successfully convinced his fans that he's a former world champion, kickboxer and general badass.

He casually talks about him and his brother's experiences with childhood trauma and whatnot to build up a story that shapes the stone cold, gangster persona that I suspect only lives in his mind.
