CR searches new horizons and challenges and did all he could do in Madrid along with being their all-time best player for the most part. Unlike Messi who stayed in one comfort zone his whole career and only now switched (to Ligue 1 lol) this is just what Ronaldo's mentality is and is not killing it in the worlds premier league.

If that was not clear, Ronaldo wanted Juve as it seemed an easy alternative to strengthen his case vs Messi. Win CL here after such a long drought would be a tremendous argument in his narrative. Win CL in 3 countries who else has done it ?

Context. In 2018 we are still legit in Europe mostly due to Allegri's tactics everybody knew it was not sustainable on the long run. A squad rejuvenation was needed and expected.

Problem. Our president was deluded into thinking Ronaldo = guaranteed CL because he crucified us 2 years in a row. At Real his midfield was Modric, Kroos, Casemiro. We gave him a bored Pjanic, Emre Can't, Rabiot, Bentancuck and the corpse of Khedira. With 3 managers, each worse than the previous guy no stability at all. So it was a big flop.

I just wish to close this shit chapter. No need to blame Ronaldo he came here and delivered as much as you can hope for. He was not gonna change his ways to fit in wtf did they think it's very simple he was on higher level of ambition and the squad had neither the will nor the capacity to follow him

And how much did we screw ourselves with his salary. All this money spent in urgency for low ballers on free transfers. Instead in 2018 we should have paid the price to buy fucking Sergej he fills the void in midfield and we keep slowly but surely rejuvenate the squad, as it was Beppe's plan

Ronaldo is a selfish player in the sense that he wants to be known as the best no matter what. sometimes his team suffers because of that.

Ronaldo was let go by Madrid because of his salary demand. Perez unlike at Barca with Messi, recognized he could not keep paying Ronaldo was he was demanding in his (& Messi's) annual (or almost annual) new demand. Perez recognized that the teams salary budget could not exceed income and that no player could be paid what would be totally out of proportion to team in general.

The choice of Juve simply came down to who was willing to pay his demanded salary. The choice was (and is regarding this past summer's transfer) very limited in terms of what teams can and would pay that demand.

Ronaldo was desperate to come back before he joined Utd. But was denied by the club publically. As usual his family did not react kindly to it and started moaning on twitter alleging that Carlo had reacted positively to Ronaldo returning. But it doesn't depend on Carlo so he can say whatever he wants to in private. It's the club that decides in the end

Like bill said, Ronaldo was let go because Perez simply had enough of him. He has been a pain in the ass for Perez for the duration of his RM career and when he came with the latest salary increase demand and threatened to leave, Perez asked him to find a club that could pay what the club valued him at and he could leave. He did just that and he left. Just 3 seasons later he wanted to come back but the doors were closed. As a footballer Ronaldo will be remembered by RM fans as one of the greatest ever RM players but as a person I don't think many sympathises with him against Perez just like Ramos. Perez acted correctly against both of them. They are great footballers and in one case also our greatest captain ever but the club is bigger than the player

Ramos wanted to extend for 2 years. Perez offered him 1 year. Ramos didn't accept it at first and started talking to other clubs. we signed Alaba. when Ramos at the end accepted the 1 year extension Perez told him it's too late.

Very true, media is so messed up as always, we know better to believe everything they put out n take in everything with a pinch of salt. as to Flo having enough with egos, I’m not sure of that at all. He has his way of not giving aging players anything more than 1 year contracts, it’s not based on egos or personalities, just their age. And the majority of them come back to club when their playing days are over.

Ronaldo’s case was different though. Every year, sometimes every second year, both he and Messi would put a demand to their club for a huge increase in salary to be the highest paid player. It got to the point, where the demand was out of reach of any budget or club’s income. One president recognized this was not sustainable while the other didn’t.

Besides it's false what you say, at first he was going to Milan that year but the chinese owner blocked the move. There was also PSG and Man Utd interested. He implied it himself Juve had the better offer salary + CL hero narrative so he came here

The point was he wasn't being paid, at Madrid, what he wanted. He began his search, not for a challenge but for which club had the ability and willingness to paid his requested salary. The only club that was willing to do that was Juve!! This past summer, he was at it again and this time there were two takers, the 2 Manchester clubs!! He isn't choosing anything based on challenges, it's who will pay him! It's the same situation with Messi.

In his case i can believe pure greed is what motivates him. Although he was willing to cut 50% of his salary to remain at Barca so maybe he had enough. Ronaldo it's beyond clear there is more than just money.

Ronaldo came to Juve specifically due to his liking of the club as he shared it when he liked Del Piero to the standing ovation in the stadium for him. By his social media it was obvious it was a liking but coach merry-go-round and no real progress disillusioned him possibly but what was confirmed was he wouldn't accept a rotation role.

Everyone has the right to demand more money its not like Messi didn't hijack his club each contract yet profess his love for Barça ala Dollarumma.

His salary is just highly unsustainable hence why Juventus pushed him out and not to mention he's nearly 46.

Seems pretty obvious to me that Perez judged CR had reached a point of no return regarding his valuation and if he waited any longer he would only get peanuts for him, so he sold him. It was the right call.

It's what Bart should've done regarding Messi when he requested to leave. Difference is Perez is competent whereas Bart is the opposite of that.

You’re making this out to be once again a battle of Messi and Ronaldo. They both have enormous egos and want to be considered the best. They both are generational talents and will be amongst the greatest of all time. Sure Messi is consider the best by some, maybe most, but there are a large number than disagree with that. I personally rate both as head over heels above anyone else for a 10 year period, each with their own talents.

Messi was just as bad as Ronaldo for demanding higher and higher salaries. He only offered to accept a pay cut after the club was literally bankrupt. And sure both are billionaires, but they always want more. You would be too as long as someone is able and willing to pay!

Perez hurt him by not giving a raise meanwhile Messi would get his raise without question. Also he was not backed for the tax fraud scandal. He felt treated as inferior and started looking elsewhere. The latter point was in public news actually

Milan (another great narrative) had an agreement in summer 2017 which collapsed, source Mirabelli himself. Juve was the easiest negotiation we gave him the moon right away. But it changes nothing we talk of Cristiano Ronaldo he will find whatever ways to achieve his ambition. That's how i perceive him.
