As a messi fanboy and Ronaldo hater, this last 3 years have been difficult for me.

But now I'm back out of the woodwork. There is no chance he wins ballon d'or this year and unless Salah or mane score hat tricks in every game from now on and liverpool win the double,  there's no chance messi doesn't win.

It's going to be a great feeling to be top again with messi on 6 and being younger and better, having a better chance to win more. In the end quality prevails. We all know deep down every football fan focuses on who wins the ballon d'or this last messi and Ronaldo decade as much as they don't like to admit it. And it's messi who comes king.

Also no one cares about winning a serie a with Juventus.  It's not a achievement or challenge. Ronaldo thought he was better than he was and thought the champions league title would follow him.

Sure you could say at least he moved to try a new team unlike messi. We will never know cause messi will never leave Barca but still will have more ballon D'ors, and that's all that Cristiano cares about.

I and all messi fanboys can relax now knowing the true GOAT won't be overtaken. Cristiano in fairness did a good job to give us a fright despite his lack of overall ability compared to messi.

After retirement he will spend his entire career promoting his brand trying to convince the casual fan he was the best while the real GOAT can relax knowing he achieved the most ballon d'ors in history. Sure he may never win the WC but nor will Ronaldo. It may always be a cloud over him and that missed 2014 opportunity may haunt him forever but I think he will be more content with his career than Ronaldo by having more ballon d'ors, more goals, more assists, more trophies, more golden shoes and a WC MVP award. Football would be boring if one guy won everything anyway, every player having their flaws makes it more fun.

As a proud messi fan boy I am glad my man is going to be top again (possibly permanently), particularly regarding ballon d'ors, considering the recent knockout of Juventus in the CL. As a messi fan boy, I feel confident to gloat about this again after remaining quiet the last couple of years. I'm sure a lot of Cristiano fanboys were hoping he'd win CL and overtake messi.

Scoring goals is good. But if thats the only thing you can do, then you need chances created for you to score. Thats my biggest problem with CR.

He does not dribble anymore, cant get past his defender, cant create much, is not a good passer, cant hold the ball under pressure...

It is all the final hit, and the movement before that.

Juve could have a more succesful season if they signed a creative player instead of CR.

He's literally 35 years old at this point. No shit he is past his prime @Mamad. Even Messi is not running around dribbling the whole team every game. They're growing older, that's just the way it works.

And watching the last game he played, yes he can dribble just fine. He draws plenty of fouls with his back to goal and his link up play has been solid even under pressure. Yes Juve could use a creative player but looking at higuain and Dybala this season you seriously think CR hasn't had an impact?

Ronaldo doesn't just score goals. When it comes to finishing. aerial ability, and off the ball movement, he's a 10/10. Everything else is more of a 6.5 or 7/10. Not amazing, but not terrible either. Putting up strawman arguments like "he can't do this or that" is not a good way to convey your point as legit.

Fennec, we both know Mamad has had it against Cristiano for years now and clearly hasn't watched him with Juventus.

He's made unreal dribbles in Serie A and Champions League.

and for the first time has actually become a GOOD passer with commendable vision given the slightly altered role Allegri has used him in.

Quite frankly bar his initial adaptation period he's better than I've ever seen him and no it has nothing to do with where he is or whom he is playing but individual difference that does not need to take those factors into account to see that a new environment and a lot more to prove has had him ramp up his game.

I can assure you Mamad, Ronaldo has been quite fine for Jjuve. Even as a casual viewer, Ronaldo usually has an impact that stems beyond scoring. But he is getting old, as we all are and he can't do the things he used to do.

My only pet peeve is that Ronaldo could have been this type of footballer a long time ago.
