That's why I'm so against this overall play Benzema narrative that, understandably Zidane has spoken of, but even himself has been adamant to the point that he is almost seeming to be against scoring goals

It's one thing to not care if you score 10 or 20 goals when you play next to a 50 goal scorer and you're winning matches, its another to not care if you score while your team is failing to score and dropping points

He is the only forward in living memory (that I know of) that actually is content in NOT scoring goals. Even when the likes Torres and Raul were saying shit like their purpose is not to score goals...they still wanted to score goals. Benzema actively tries his hardest not to score or put himself in scoring positions. I would not wish Benzema on my most hated footballing clubs.

To be honest, he's a player living off his name and his team's accomplishments the past few seasons. Shame because on his day he really is a great player, or rather was, I would say in these moments he just needs a change of scenery but I feel he's even beyond that point. He needs to learn to play the game again

He used to be a big part of that elite group of strikers that included Augero, Lewa, Higuain, Suarez, Cavani.... now he's less useful than Immobile Roberto Inglese

All joking aside, yes he is truly finished, he doesn't have the level to play for a big team anymore, in my opinion. he could do some good to an up and coming team like Valencia, or smaller clubs like Monaco.

Real madrid are to blame for how mediocre he has become. Zidane protected him from competition last season vs Morata, otherwise i think Morata would have pounded hm. He changed the cursor with him and started saying he doesn't need to score, etc... Perez and Zidane love him too much and they protected him from everything. in the meantime, we had maybe the best european player ever, the best midfield in football in the past 10 years, and Ramos. we won CLs, so he hung around, and got a few nice games here and there.

Chad ran away when he saw the decline starting, it's hard to repeatedly call a player world class when he is playing like shit and not scoring. Chad is a clever lad, he knew he would be trolled endlessly

Chad will have the last laugh when horrible players like Ronaldo and Isco stop making him miss sitters.

As much as it pains me to say it because Benz is really shite since the beginning of last year...  but we don't win CL or La Liga last season if Benz didn't pull off some crazy plays late in the season.  That's what I'm hoping for AT BEST this season.  But given our current form, we may not have the opportunity to play in games that count later.

I don't know about La Liga (really can't recall him being relevant at all) but he actually was decent in the UCL. Decent to good to be fair/generous.
