Let's use this as a showcase for next season's 3-5-2 without Alexis or Mesut
Welbeck - Perez
Gibbs - Xhaka - Ox - Ramsey - Bellerin
Koscielny - Mustafi - Gabriel
Cech

Forget Gabriel. I don't want to see any more posts with preview lineups containing Gabriel. Sell him ASAP. You have Holding or what's his name. Use him.

If we can keep the score under 3 I consider that a huge victory, training match.
4-1 Bayern.
4-1 Bayern.

Since moving to Emirates Arsenal have won just 5 #UCL knockout games at home: Roma, Villarreal, Porto, Barcelona, Milan. Last was March 2012

Welbeck injured in warm up. Giroud comes in. Not Lucas Perez, the more natural replacement.
Fantastic. Let's change the style of the team fifteen minutes from kick-off.

I'll be honest, I can pretend I don't care, but it will still break my heart a bit if this team plays to the best of their abilities and wins, like, 3-0 or 4-1.

Arsenal sure know how to create a hype for match lol. Still gonna watch Napoli kicking out Madrid.

1-5. Brutal result. Ugly. Savage.
Honestly I think that red card was harsh, very harsh, and Arsenal up til that point were playing quite well ... but the utter collapse afterwards remains indefensible. If you're a CL-caliber team, you shouldn't be so easy to waltz through like that, over and over again.
Alexis had a mediocre game. Giroud missed a few sitters.
Positives from a sea of negatives: until the red card, I really liked the look of the Xhaka-Ox-Ramsey midfield, and Theo played well, and both Mustafi and Koscielny were doing good things from the back.

Re: Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich [2nd leg CL R16 Exit]
The players gave up after the red. They didn't care a bit about damage limitation and just left themselves open for humiliation. Lo and behold.
And to think the first half was actually very good. If we had been more clinical we might have been in the tie.
The red changed everything. Honestly, it's a ridiculous decision. But once you go down to 10 men there has to be a reaction - toughen up, make it hard for the other team. We just surrendered. Alexis was laughing on the bench after playing shit and putting in minimal effort. That's where this team is at mentally.
Just put the result down in the evidence column supporting Wenger resigning.

Re: Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich [2nd leg CL R16 Exit]
Wenger: "We produced the game we wanted. We were very unlucky with the decisions. Walcott was a penalty, Lewandowski was offside."
Wenger: "I feel sorry for the people who pay a lot of money and come to see this kind of game."
Wenger on 5-1 score: "It looks very bad and doesn't reflect our performance tonight."
Wenger on negativity around the club: "Let's keep that spirit [the team showed] and play the next game."
Arsene Wenger to Sky afterwards: "It's not a penalty for me, it's offside."
On your situation? Wenger: "I have nothing to say."

He's not totally wrong, tbh. Few will be interested in what defences he has, though.

Re: Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich [2nd leg CL R16 Exit]
Wenger: “No [the players have not let us down], the referee has let us down.”
Wenger: “I think we can compete with Bayern Munich and we have shown that in the 1st half.”
Arsene asked what needs to change at Arsenal. “I think this club is in a great shape. What needs to change is the result in the next game.”

Re: Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich [2nd leg CL R16 Exit]
Watched the BT stream as I hate German Sky.
Keown would not shut up for the whole second half about the referee lol, then they claimed as he was Greek and new he wasn't up to the task.
What they didn't do is take a look at the Laws of the Game which clearly state that a red card is to be given when a denial of clear opportunity foul is done by pushing, holding, or no intent to go for the ball, all three of which Koscielny did.
Red card was the correct decision. Referee was spot on in every single instance of the game.

Are we absolutely certain it was even a foul though? Watch this clip ...
