Suarez rested during intl break. He had a poor game and looked really sluggish. Seems players have checked out of La Liga.

Valverde should have used the opportunity to use some of the fringe players. Why couldnt he have played Alena, Malcolm and maybe Todibo from the start? Alena needs games and after a good run of minutes has mysteriously disappeared. Malcolm has shown promise every time he plays and yet I expect him to disappear again after his promising game today. Likewise why not test Todibo at CB? If he clicks, we could save the MDL money for other areas.

The squad players probably do deserve more chances... probably just wanting to keep the cushion with everyone fit atm. I guess also if players are on form, u sort of want to keep them playing regularly in order to keep that flowing? Some players may drop form a bit if u rest them perhaps? Otherwise I also agree would be nice to see the squad players more often. Perhaps after we win the next few games and when we are more sure of the title Very Happy

Messi has some pelvis problem that's been going on for weeks. They really should rest him or at least use him off the bench until he recovers fully. Suarez needs to also rest, he looked like an old hot mess Saturday.

Coutinho continues to suck.

Malcom is really starting to get in form! Guys super humble and works hard. I really hope they dont sell him in the summer.

I think something that needs to be said more is how much heart a lot of these guys have. Something Madrid has sorely missed without Zizou. Messi again showing what a wonderful player he is.

Unbelievable game of football. Best game I have watched all season. Two teams out there playing the beautiful game. Quality of football was simply sublime at times.
Despite conceding 4 goals, I liked the way we played. Without Messi, our game is more varied. All the forwards shared the ball and our attacking was more varied. Still, despite our good play, we were ripped to pieces at the back. Alba was nowhere to be found and Villareal continually pulled Lenglet wide; exposing him one on one against Chukwuese. I have never seen a defender get so brutally destroyed like Lenglet was today. Hats off to Chukwuese who had a blinder.
The comeback at the end was also special. two unbelievable goals from Messi and Suarez.

Just a spectacle for football. Great great game.

Our defending can be so clownish at times but the first 30 minutes we played was unreal and the comeback was also superb.

Meh game from us. heading for a draw before a moment of genius from Luis Suarez.
Same standard problems dealing with a well drilled defense. Its the same trick over and over again.

Liked Coutinho. Thought he was our best player. Great block in our box early on in the game and good invention going forward. he is judged as a forward and therefore on goals but he has mostly played well.

Dembele received the green light. Rumors are Coutinho will be dropped for an additional midfielder; I presume Vidal to bring in more presence in the middle and Dembouz will come off bench when Utd are tired.

I'd like to see Vidal and Busquets in front of the defence with Rakitic having a more attacking role.

I'm not too worried about performance, we just beat Atletico in league decider 3 days ago. And the refs were against us from the goal. Next game, home, rest, referees.

We defended with men behind the ball. Despite their press, Mats had almost nothing to do and De Gea had to make all the saves.
Busquets is finished. He is useless and his useless tricks no longer work. He gets pick pocketed more often than not. If De Jong's performance against Juve is anything to go by, he is more than ready to step in. Time to cash in and get rid of Busquets. Rakitic is a more valuable player for us.

Coutinho was the best of the front 3. The defense played well, particularly Semedo and Pique. Pique is in the form of his career and is arguably the best CB in the world right now.

Lastly, get rid of Busquets.

I thought it was just a matter of time that we would concede. Luckily we had been playing vs. a poor team.
Other than that we defended well, our attacking duo were nonexistent. I am sure they will be fresh by the next game. We had two tough game vs Villareal ad ATM back to back. I wont be surprised if Messi and Suraez completely destroy them in the return leg.
Lets forget about Coutinho and welcome Dembele.

Team seemed to never get out of fourth gear yet we didnt allow a shot on goal. They looked tired from the Atletico, cluster of games recently but Pique and Suarez are suspended this weekend anyways and Messi might of been playing with a broken nose. Not to mention Dembele will definitely be good to go by 2nd leg.

Also to add - too bad we can’t fuse Semedo and Sergi into one player. We would of a beast of a right back. Really the only thing Segi has on Semedo is his offensive/holding the ball skills but as the season has gone on Semedo has improved slowly but surely in that department. At this point the club could consider using Wague or Emerson as the back up to Semedo next season and shift Sergi into midfield.

Vidal somehow comes on for 20 mins and does nothing but foul the crap out of everyone and lose possession. That guy either comes on and does great work or turns into a liability really quick.

If they couldn’t beat a not in full speed Barca at Old Trafford then we really shouldn’t fear they will at the Camp Nou. Also should be noted they had 10 days off before that game and the best they could do vs a subpar Barca was 0 shots on goal. We had to play Atletico 3-4 days before in a title deciding game.

Anyone watching the match against Huesca? Dembele has looked pretty toothless going forward, so far. Then again, I suppose he just returned from another injury. Huesca are a poor team, but they've been doing alright recently. They seem to be good at salvaging draws Razz
