Still played like shit.
Eh, not really. It was an average performance but we still made the opportunities to win the game and dominated Burnley in most of the key stats. It only became an even contest when Xhaka was sent off.

Re: Arsenal vs Burnley (16/17)
someone needs to have a word with Xhaka about throwing himself all the time. It's getting annoying now, not only it's poor defending and poor technique. He never wins the ball flying in like that either, not sure why he keeps doing it anyway. It's annoying because he is a good player and he goes and does careless shit like this.
Now it leaves us with a Pivot of Coquelin and Ramsey which is our weakest midfield partnership for some very important game. Jack should have never gone on loan to be honest, he clearly had a word to say in our midfield. In the most important period of the season and our midfield is week as shit. I am getting a sense of deja vu here

We've conceded 7 pens this and saved none of them We need to look at a new keeper in the summer for sure.
Easy to say in hindsight. At the time of him going out on loan we had five fit central midfielders. Cazorla gets injured but we still have four. Elneny goes to the AFCON but he'll back next month.
If he stayed he would have spent all season on the bench until now. So loaning him out wasn't the wrong thing to do at all.

In amongst all the controversy I'd like to point out that Ramsey had a very good game and seems to be finding some form again.
Timely as we'll need him big time for the next four games.

Well somebody has to be
If it were me I'd be 100% leaving him out of either the cup or the midweek game against Watford. Play Ox or Niles next to Coq for at least one of those of games.

We all knew Santi wasn't going to remain fit for the entire season even the Arsenal staff were aware of his Achilles problems. Apart from Santi no one else is a guaranteed starter which is why Arsene has chopped and changed his midfield a lot. I think Jack would have had a chance his chance since no one has been central midfield since Santi has been absent.

Re: Arsenal vs Burnley (16/17)
It was a good performance imo, Burnley are some tough sons of bitches. In the end we deserved the win with that kind of performance.
For everything Xhaka offers offensively he is a liability in defense. And I'm not even talking about the stupid tackle either. The guy just can't defend, it's not a mental problem and that's worrying. On the other hand, Coquelin who is supposed to be the safer option, gives away a dumb penalty like that. Can't we for once have a defensive midfielder who can pass the ball fluently AND not be an idiot defensively? Is that really so much to ask for?

Burnley's penalty was not a penalty. The striker takes another step and then throws himself to the ground.
