Re: Burnley Vs Arsenal
Lacazette has officially fallen off the cliff it seems
Soares needs to start starting asap, or Tierney, so that Saka can play RW

Re: Burnley Vs Arsenal
Worst game under Arteta so far, for sure.
The defending is okay, given the personnel, but the attack continues to struggle. Even Auba was snatching at chances. If he's not firing, there's no way Lacazette, as he is, is picking up the slack.
Saka's injury doesn't help, of course.
I dunno. I'm so used to Arsenal's attack bailing them out, and seeing these supposedly good players worth a lot of money struggling is dispiriting. If the wins don't start flowing soon, I can see Arsenal going all in for the EL and FA Cup.

Re: Burnley Vs Arsenal
yea one positive so far under Arteta is the obvious improvement in defense and lack of silly mistakes

Re: Burnley Vs Arsenal
I suppose there could be a general feeling within the club that there is not much to play for in the PL which for me is wrong considering how inconsistent our rivals are.
But yea, EL really is our main target yet again. FA Cup would be a bonus.

Once again I am yet to see why Guendouzi should start.

Re: Burnley Vs Arsenal
^^maybe he still needs more time. We need to invest heavily in midfield this summer.
Hopefully Barca comes with a high offer for Aubameyang, then Kroenke needs to give the about 150 million pounds in addition so that we can find a replacement for Auba, and buy two good midfielder one who will hopefully replace Xhaka in the not so long run and the other give competition to Torreira and Douzi. And then one more good CB that can partner Saliba

Re: Burnley Vs Arsenal
I expect Aubameyang will leave, but if I'm Arsenal right now I'll be doing my absolutely best to keep him and move Lacazette on. Replacing Aubameyang with a striker of any quality is going to be a significant challenge, but Lacazette's qualities are easier to find. In fact, between Martinelli and Nketiah I think Arsenal are well covered for back-up forwards.
That midfield, though, is going to require major reconstruction. The team needs wingers, creative midfielders, and a no. 6. I think it needs at least three major signings in this area. Torreira is good but needs backup, Xhaka can be upgraded, Guendouzi can be upgraded, Ozil is done and needs replacing, and I don't see the quality in Willock and Smith Rowe just yet to rely on them. Ceballos is gone. Pointless signing in the grand scheme of things. Nelson and Pepe can probably stay but they need another option there.
Defence is really dependent on getting players out. Right now, Arsenal have Luiz, Sokratis, Holding, Chambers, Mustafi, Mavropanos, Mari and Saliba on their books. About four CBs too many, by my count. Chambers is out long-term but even if we don't count him, that's still seven players. So they'll need to get rid of a few before making another signing here.
