Winter Transfer Window

It's been already confirmed that Klopp will try to beef-up the squad during the mid-season window. However, I see it highly unlikely that any of the fancied names will arrive during this period. Also, it seems Klopp has narrowed down his focus/search on just the back-up for Mane. On the other hand, it's almost certain that Sakho will leave.

It's really important to find a back-up for Mane. Not just because he'll be gone for AFCON, but look at our options out wide if someone gets injured. With Coutinho out it's Firmino being forced wide, and while he's still not 100% fit it's not a role that suits his strengths.

Promes should be the #1 target. Imagine Firmino in that false 9 role with Promes and Mane running the flanks and causing havoc. So much potential there. If not him then maybe someone like Leon Bailey or Henry Onyekuru. Both good enough to start but young enough to be rotational players.

This place is too quiet . Where is Fahim, when you need one .

It's obvious that we are going to buy someone, Klopp stated that quite clearly. But even the gossip columns aren't giving any morsels, let alone legit leads.

I don't think we need anyone in January, especially with no Europe.

With Ojo coming back to fitness, Wilson's form, Coutinho coming back, Sturridge returning to health and Origi slotting in nicely I'm inclined to agree. I don't think we'll necessarily need to buy anyone. On top of it our two 'biggest' targets supposedly in Pulisic and Promes both appear to be not for sale this winter. I'd say just wait for the summer when we can get the players we really want.

I agree with both of you. However, the way Klopp clearly stated that we are going to 'strengthen' the squad, I feel there might be some activities.

Well, Lazio would probably be unlikely to sell this window, and I haven't watched much of him this year but Felipe Anderson is still a player that I think is really interesting. He plays the same side as Mane, is ridiculous on the ball and actually has a very high work rate plus really nice tackling/interception numbers. I think he'd fit in really well under Klopp.

Don't understand this at all, We'll lose out on a CB and a DM. Grujic and Stewart are not good enough for now.

On one side we don't need anyone but on the other side if there is any addition which will help us keep pushing for 2nd or 3rd spot, won't be bad either.

So the departure of Illori is our first piece of business in this window.
