So effing excited. Kloppo will need some players. I have very high hopes of signing some really game changing players in January.

I don't think Klopp has much star appeal outside of Bundesliga, tbh. I don't see, say, top La Liga players (outside of Barca / Madrid) want to come to Liverpool just because of Klopp. What I'm mostly hopeful is that our success rate with the "2nd & 3rd tier" players that we're able to sign will significantly improve from Rodgers' days.

First of all, this TRANSFER COMMITTEE nonsense has to stop. Also, I don't believe there will be any significant signings in January.

Yeah, January is a difficult window to change the squad too much. I pretty much would only like an out-and-out winger in January.

I would be okay with Griezmann if we fail to sign Reus.

Failing both I'll take El Shaarawy as 3rd choice.

Realistically we might buy a RCB. Can't see Klopp being happy with Skrtel starting the whole season.

No chance of El Shaa. Unless I've heard news he's fallen out at Monaco I highly doubt it. They just signed him didn't they???

Can't see us getting Griezemann either. We have a stocky squad in the final third. Won't be surprised if we don't sign anyone (bar maybe one or two) with Klopp using this season as an indicated on what he wants from the team.

Big question marks on how he's going to fit Firminho, Reus, Benteke, Sturridge, Ibe, Coutinho (unless we move him back into midfield*) and Lallana into a front three.


Our midfield is really unbalanced and only Lucas fits into Klopp's ideology, really. Henderson, Milner and Can all play the same role... unless we make Emre an understudy to Lucas.

I don't know. But really interested to see how Klopp lines up.

To be honest, won't be surprised if Lovren is rejuvenated under Klopp.

Can we ditch 3 *bleep* midfielders FFS, it's *bleep* useless with our squad, what were going to rely on Cou to service the other two strikers, his not ready for such a responsibility. Can, lucas, milner, hendo, allen, none of these players have the ability to be an extra attacking spark.

Hopefully we move to a 4231, some tough decisions on who to bench, but so be it.

4231 DOES have 3 midfielders though.

Klopp likes to play a high line. I can't see how Skrtel would possibly fit that. He's awful at high set ups. He's best in low blocks, even then questionable at best.

He'll probably be forced to play him until the end of the season given Kolo and Lovren are the other choices. But I can't see him being anywhere near the team after that.

It's going to be a tough decision in itself to bench one of Benteke (2nd most expensive signing ever) or Sturridge.

I don't know how balanced it would be having Sturridge, Reus/Griezmann/SES, Coutinho, Firmino all starting at the same time. I would imagine it's always best to have a hardworking work horse as one of the 4 (i.e. Kuba and Grosskreutz).

So far I think CM and CB are what we might be looking at in January.

We are crazy thin in quality in the double pivot.

We have 3 players that all play the same role in midfield.

Lucas, Henderson and either Coutinho or Firminho in the tip will be the preferred midfield imo.
Lucas will claim himself as our best midfielder, and will probably take Milner's captaincy off him too.

Something like:

Lucas Hendo
Coutinho/Firminho

with Hendo being box-to-box

Just wondering if Klopp will rotate Benteke and Sturridge or keep 2 strikers up top. Can really see Benteke raising himself to the next level under a coach like Klopp.

Quality > quantity, been saying it for years. I think the optimism has kicked in. Going to be awkward if we appoint 'Arry instead.

Mario claiming he wanted to come back to Anfield in Jan before deleting the tweet and then admitting afterwards how amazing the Liverpool fans are.

Pepe said something very similar in terms of he can support Liverpool again. Who's next? Agger? Carroll's came out and said "win-win situation" for Liverpool before the Everton game (heavy rumours when he was going to get sacked if he loses). We all know Sterling left because of him.

Sterling left because of money, but obviously Rodgers was a disaster when it came to transfers.

I doubt there will be too much movement in the winter window. Maybe a CB or a player that can bring real width to the attack.

Otherwise I think that if both Sturridge and Benteke are healthy Sturridge will be moved out wide.
