Brazil football team Chapecoense in Colombia plane crash
BBC wrote:
A plane carrying 72 people, including a Brazilian football team, has crashed on its approach to the city of Medellin in Colombia, officials say.
Details are unclear but some reports say there are survivors.
The chartered plane, flying from Bolivia, was carrying members of the Chapecoense football team, airport officials said.
The team was due to play in the final of the South American club cup with Medellin team Atletico Nacional.
The final has now been suspended.
Reports say the plane crashed in a mountainous area outside the city shortly before midnight local time (05:00 GMT).
Medellin's Mayor Federico Gutierrez described it as "a tragedy of huge proportions", but added it was possible there were survivors.
The Jose Maria Cordova de Rionegro airport, which serves Medellin, posted on its Twitter account: "Confirmed, the aircraft licence number CP2933 was carrying the team @ChapecoenseReal. Apparently there are survivors."

Atletico nacional (the team they were about to play the final against) have requested that conmebol declare Chapecoense the winner

What tragic news to wake up to, my goodness.
RIP. My sincerest condolences to their friends and families.
Anything football related like this hits me harder than any other celebrity deaths. I looked up their squad list to see if I knew any of the players. I used to play with Cleber Santana on FIFA with Atleti.

It's crazy and so hard to believe this actually happen.
Seeing a few article of the players who didn't make the squad due to injuries. I can't even imagine how they feel

So many young men gone ahead of what was going to be the biggest game of their careers. Absolutely awful. And the coach's son just missed the plane because of a passport error.
RIP.

Reading about this since a few hours, Keep getting worse and worse. Horrible day today.
RIP
I hope some god gives strength to the families who have lost their loved ones. Football is the very least of importance here.

Never thought something like this would happen in my lifetime after reading so much about the Busby and Superga disasters.....just wow.
All my thoughts are with this club, its fans and the families of everyone involved. This is beyond tragic.

I was devastated yesterday, I watched many of their games this season, they were living a Leicester-esque fairy tale. Yesterday was such a terrible day...
