Aye that too, there is probably more if i really researched it.

If they just released fully fledged AAA versions of these franchises plus a Splatoon like new IP every generation then the lack of software would not be an issue.

3rd party or no party, there's enough IP that they own that could make for enough quality titles to make a console purchase worthwhile for a lot of people.

They just don't take advantage of it.

Pokemon? full fledged mainline console adventure? never.

There are strong rumours atm that the next mainline game will be on the Switch. The recent games actually pushed the 3DS' hardware limits. Game Freak said they'd be developing Pokemon games for the Switch as well, so it's not entirely impossible. Not as impossible as it might have been before the latest games.

like I mentioned before you should be terrified to adopt this early - besides a couple of first party titles almost everything they showed/person they brought out to announce stuff - they had nothing substantial to show for it, people like Suda51 coming out to announce that they hoped to make a good game in the future lmao. wasn't even in a development stage. Brought out the Yakuza guy and he basically said the same thing. No way a few gimmicky games rebranded from Wii Sport a Zelda game and gimped versions of FIFA and Skyrim keep consumer interest..

Honestly think this will end up being a disaster on the same level as Wii U

Really surprised that the conference was as bad as it was with them knowing they needed a big one to recover from their last gen offering

general reactions seem to almost universally be 'wow Zelda looked great but wtf are they doing'

even the casual consumer that lapped up the Wii and doesn't pay attention to game release dates is going to think twice with how much it costs to purchase controllers, etc

there's 0 incentive..they would just go buy a more powerful PS4 with 5 games for their kids at a cheaper cost

They *bleep* up so much lol, ignoring the accessories prices if they just announced more games people want ( even if they are not coming this year) i guarantee their would be a more positive reaction.

I read the NeoGAF thread " Who is buying Zelda on the Wii U " and the thread is full of people saying yes i'm not buying the console just for Zelda running more smoothly.

I know it's not representative of the entire gaming landscape but i get the feeling a lot of people will see it the same way.

was looking into buying a Wii U for Zelda, expected the console to be like 120 by now, still more expensive than a PS4/X1

I do want to play Zelda

Royal Mail twitter having a meltdown atm, Nintendo has been assuring people who have preordered it will receive it today, while Royal Mail says otherwise. My shipment has been despatched yesterday but like many others its stuck on 'Sales Order Raised' whatever that means

Amazon dispatched mine last night and it's out for delivery this morning. Coming via an Amazon courier and not Royal Mail, thankfully.

My Switch has arrived

It's tiny. Not that much bigger than the latest PS Vita. Really lightweight and kind of flimsy when using the kickstand. The controllers slide in and out smoothly. Interface looks really sharp as well.

Letting it charge in the dock for a while before playing Zelda in portable mode.

I played for about two-two and a half hours before the low battery warning came up.

So unless you're playing next to a charger, Zelda won't be good for long plays in portable mode.

Yeah. You just connect the dock to the TV via HDMI and stick the tablet in. It charges while in the dock too.

I was watching the TV while I had the tablet up on the kickstand on my desk. Being able to do this is the main reason I bought it Laughing

The controller feels good, too.
