Rumors of it being a console and handheld were true then, although other than Skyrim remastered most of the games they showed were Wii U games so it's hard to tell how weak or powerful it is.

But as a general concept it seems like a good idea.

Nintendo is done for, there need to stop innovating when there is nothing to innovate, shame that some of their best IPs went down the drain with Metroid and Starfox, now get ready for New Super Mario Bros 8 Lightning Returns or some such other bs cashcow

Honestly think it will be successful tbh.

Most of their success these days come from the handheld crowd rather than the home console crowd.

Doing this combines both audiences and allows their dev teams to all work on one device instead of dividing them up.

Financially i think it's a good move for them, time will tell whether the games lineup will be great though.

BTW From Software is confirmed to be one of their partners Laughing

I am putting my money where my mouth is, and going to invest the money I earned in Nintendo stock with Pokemon GO back into more stock.

Frankly, if the market direction is half-assed 3rd party games that bends me over and drill my ass with MASSIVE patches and more and more DLC, then I would rather fall down with Nintendo.

Also, Splatoon = best new shooter of this generation.

That it's a handheld as well sells this to me. Most of the gaming I'm doing now is either on the 3DS or Vita so to potentially lay in bed with a big game title on a handheld sounds really appealing.

Of course, we'll have to see what actually comes out it. If it has Wii U like library then it's going to bomb.

One of the reasons i think it will succeed is because of it being both.

They can consolidate all their teams into one console instead of two which in theory should mean more games coming out at a faster rate.

No more spending two teams to make a Mario Kart game for Wii and DS lol.

All of this to me makes complete sense for them as a company.

Press conference to announce the date, price and launch line up is in like 6 hours, obviously nobody is crazy enough to watch at that time.

I'm kind of interested to see all the info when i get up though, something about Nintendo that i always come back when they announce something new.

They just make games i like that nobody else does, although admittedly it probably isn't smart for me to buy it. Laughing

People did the same with PS4 so I'm not surprised, people just need to get angry at things lol.

tbh some of the stuff they've shown looks pretty fun, it looks like it will be a fun console with a good balance of gimmicky stuff and legit games but I'm not convinced of long term support by the big developers, just have an inkling this will be a bit of a flop again. Doubt I'll buy it regardless.
