5 time European Champions vs The Red Dabbers
Most important game at Anfield so i thought i'd make a thread right now.
So this game is about 2503843 days away.
Team news:
Lovren, Lallana and Clyne have pulled out from NT duties, More on that as we get it. Lallana might not make it for this game.
Sakho and Ings continue to be ostracized, Gomez will be back in October.
Expected team:
Should concede.

Re: 5 time European Champions vs The Red Dabbers
Dings ain't being ostracized but man I really hope he gets called up soon. He's looked great with the u23 squad and I just love his attitude, demeanor and workrate. To have him coming on say with 25 minutes left or 20 even would be nightmares for most teams under Klopp.
This is a must win for various reasons. Would love nothing more than to put United to the sword at home. 6 - 0. Do it please, I don't even care who plays.

A bit worried about the state some players will be in after the rigors of NT duty. On the other hand, Klopp has two weeks to work on fine-tuning.

Take a break and take it easy lads. It's the break. A few days to just sit back and breathe, before it all comes crashing again.

Would go for Mignolet rather than Karius. Karius is clearly not ready for this game and him making a mistake here would be detrimental for his growth.
Would rather push Migs under the bus basically.

Re: 5 time European Champions vs The Red Dabbers
You started your post correctly, but the reason Mignolet should start is not because of mental sacrifices, it's because right now Mignolet is the better keeper out of the two.
As long as we get tight on Zlatan - and therefore shut him out of the game coz he won't beat anyone with pace - and our full-backs do their jobs 1-on-1, we should have every chance to keep a clean sheet here and take the points.

If Mignolet was the better keeper of the two he would be starting.

Re: 5 time European Champions vs The Red Dabbers
That is a hilarious comment considering how average - if not even error-prone - Karius has looked.
We basically needed a keeper who would be more commanding and asserting than Mignolet... and Karius has been even more shaky so far.

Re: 5 time European Champions vs The Red Dabbers
You have to decide for a keeper and then stick with him.
Karíus waas brought in, Mignolet benched because he wasn't good enough overall.
Karius didn't look fantastic so far but then didn't do much wrong either.
Anyway, he's got quite a number of mistakes on his account to spend before he catches Mignolet.
Makes no sense to change keepers because of the opponent. No sense at all. That's Jürgen Klinsmann level of management.
As for the clean sheet, won't happen of course.
But I'm cautiously confident you will win this game. It's going to be very, very tight though.

I'm not worried. United are garbage and Klopp has a pretty nice record against Mourinho already. Gonna add to it I recon.

Re: 5 time European Champions vs The Red Dabbers
Their entire attack revolves around Ibra, He's amazing with the ball. We need to be very tight to him. Mata and the other scrubs just look to pick up the pieces of him.
Stop Ibra.

Re: 5 time European Champions vs The Red Dabbers
I wouldn't say the entire attack revolves around Zlatan, he's been relatively rarely on the ball, but if he is closed out it asks all these other questions from United that they are not comfortable answering. Thinking about it, I'd be tempted to start Lucas, just because he's so good at closing down those second-wave midfielders. Here's hoping Henderson does it when needed.

I don't care if we get relegated as long as we win this game.

His performances haven't been though, some bad finishes mind.
Do agree with the general consensus in this thread really, although you can't focus on him too much as while he isn't beating anyone for pace he has players around him that can.

We will concede, Plus its going to test Milly's test. He's going have Rashford on his wing probably. They don't have dribblers like us they have runners.

Klopp's record against Mourinho (Including Dortmund and Mainz)
Games played 5
Win 3
Draw 1
Defeats 1
Not bad, One loss is at Anfield though
