Koscielny and Mustafi have not conceded a goal from open play in the 4 league games they have played together

This.
You could see Theo shouting orders to the others at around 90' It was refreshing to see some passion among our players for once.

Re: Burnley vs Arsenal (16/17)
We missed coqs energy and box to box attacking, xhaka's played at a really slow pace, still needs to get used to the pl imo. The pure DM role is not good against teams that sit deep like that. elnany or coq besides cazorla when we are up against teams that sit extremely deep will do imo.
I think this is one of the most important wins we have had in a long time, wenger/the team has learnt that they cant be complacent and werent even punished for it. Amazing victory.

Ox needs to be sent to the reserves ASAP. He brings absolutely nothing to the team. He doesn't even take on players anymore

Yea as much as we hate on Coquelin, you can tell why Arsene starts him.

Wenger got away with this one. When you see Oxlade-Chamberlain and the Jeff as our attacking bench options, you have to wonder what the hell Wenger was thinking when he gave away Gnabry and Campbell for free and with no replacements.
This should be a lesson not to take anyone lightly, but I doubt that we'll learn. We got lucky for the 2nd time this season and I don't think we will be the next time.

Next 4 matches are all at home. Swansea next. Where they will obviously bring their A game like always.
We have now won FIVE PL matches in a row. Remarkable.

Re: Burnley vs Arsenal (16/17)
I don't think we were complacent in the first half, this is a team of seasoned pro. I don't think they expected to walk over Burnley. it's just that we played too slow. This is probably the worse game I have seen from Ozil for sometime, everything he tried didn't work and we suffered a bit because of that. It didn't help that Iwobi was hit and miss as well, only Alexis and Theo played close to their level today and against a team that defends as well as Burnley then that's not enough.
We can't always be amazing in every game and blow the opposing team apart not in a league as competitive as this one so sometimes you need to dig in and come away with a scrappy win. These are the sort of result the likes of Yanited and Chelsea usually come up with. We don't get enough of these wins so thats why I am happy with this one

The two are linked. We played slow because the players couldn't bring the same intensity into this game as they did the Chelsea and Basel games. It was apparent in the way we started the game, and the levels didn't increase as the half went on.
Now I'm not saying we played like we expected to win but when the level of performance drops so drastically like that it can usually be attributed to a lack of focus going into the game.
Of course we're not going to be amazing every game but at the same time it's disappointing that we didn't really make Burnley work that hard. It wasn't like they were putting in last ditch tackles and blocks to keep us out.

Re: Burnley vs Arsenal (16/17)
Walcott made impact in both defensive and offensive corners and was decisive, blocked the ball in 6 yard box when they were trying to score scrappy goal themselves and then flick on for the goal
was a threat and tried until the end
not special but very encouraging the way he is responding to last season's disappointments
needs to be praised

I must say Mustafi is looking more and more like a top signing. Feels like he has been with us for years.
Should have signed him instead of Gabriel

Must finally feel good to have a good CB, when was the last one? Gallas before he sat on the floor? (:

Re: Burnley vs Arsenal (16/17)
Squillaci > Gallas imo
Mustafi looks like he relishes the physical battle with strikers, going by the way he's handled Costa and Vokes. Might struggle against a really imposing centre forward in that case.
Liking what I'm seeing of him so far though. Agressive without being reckless, and hasn't needed an adjustment period like Mert and Koscielny did.
Then again Vermaelen started like this too and quickly got found out.

Still can't believe you managed to sign Mustafi just like that, with seemingly no competition. Surely one of the most attractive CB targets of the last windows.
With different timing, us and god knows what other top clubs might have been in for him, it's known he was on our list since a couple of years.
That's a veritable coup tbh, even if you paid quite a lot.
To think that Chelsea were so desperately scrambling for CB they had to resort to buying back David Lulz.

Underrated part = the man on the far post suddenly clearing off, like he's just seen the post-match buffet is ready https://t.co/sTZHjrxc1s

Re: Burnley vs Arsenal (16/17)
big win and a lucky one. i knew we would need to win dirty in the end we did it.
burnley at their home is no easy shit they really attack well + defend in a very organized manner.
However, i must say in matches like this it would be great if giroud and sanchez played together upfront. We would have scored atleast 10.
