Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Watched the pilot for Hayley Atwell's new show "Conviction". Such a gorgeous woman
Anyway, it was good, but it's pretty blatant, legal-based, female-led version of House mixed with a bit of Scandal, given the main character's political connections. Atwell's character is pretty clearly modeled after House with her disdain for convention and her tendency to get at people for the fun of it as well as her deductive reasoning. They even had Atwell take on an American accent for the role as well . She even has undeniable romantic chemistry with her boss, who happens to be male, a nod towards Cuddy.
As if it's a confirmation of its House-ness, the showrunner who brought us House, Liz Friedlander, is the showrunner for this show.
It's got promise. House's pilot wasn't that exciting, from what I remember, but it got significantly better. I think this show will too.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Checked out the TV reboot of the Exorcist and I honestly like it. Lots of nods to the original of course, but the new characters are interesting.
Also gave Syfy's take on Van Helsing a try and was again surprised by how good the first 3 episodes were. I was expecting another campy show like Wynonna Earp (meh I still like it anyway), but this is darker and a lot more grittier than I expected. Clearly draws some inspiration from the Walking Dead in the style of the setting and the mood of the characters.

I think the shows are overall not good tbh. The Flash is extremely enjoyable in a teen show cheesy way, which I love.

Agreed. That can still be enjoyable and good in its own way. Can't stand how people say these character could work in a movie. Despite how much I love the Flash show I'd love to see Barry fix something without someone talking to him in an earpiece.

I'd imagine the writing would be better lol. Grant Justin is definitely good enough for hollywood though.

I really don't think he is. Maybe for a teen musical. Don't find him special at all.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Legends of Tomorrow is not a 'great' show, maybe not even a good show but it's really fun to watch. I mean we're talking about a show that features Snart and Heatwave weekly
It's silly but I love this silly shit. I know I'd rather watch an intelligent mind controlling gorilla fighting a speedster or a team of heroes and villains travelling through time to fight an evil immortal/god THAN some shows that take themselves too seriously but are meh/boring at best.

I just hope it doesn't change the direction. I loved it when it was 3-4 episodes. I am not sure about 12 episodes.
Still positive tho

Douglas Stamper and Bronn.
The show kinda feel strange without the British accent though.
