No I never said anything negative towards Walter Mazzarri AKA Alec Baldwin AKA Dustin Hoffman

Come on now, as much as it sucked for Juve back then, Eto'o was a huge success for Inter. He did everything Mou wanted to the letter. On both ends. He got 22 and 43 goals+assists while putting that shift defending the wing.
Martial has been playing nothing like him.
No one is denying Eto'o wasn't great at Inter, but Martial's role under Mourinho is solely to defend the wing while offence not being a priority. Eto'o was the master so it wasn't hard for him to get the goals but for someone as new as Martial, he can't do both. So as a result he is in a limbo.
Yeah I agree with that.

Martial has been playing nothing like him.
He scored 12 goals in 32 games, 16 in 48 for all comps in that treble winning season.
The 37 goal season happened after Mourinho left, never said Martial has been playing anything like him but Eto'o wasn't great offensively under Mourinho at all.

But we said Inter, not Mourinho
Eto'o was an Inter player the following season as well, and he was great again.
And yes he was a great player in all aspects for Mou. He contributed to everything, including the attack. His workrate was off the charts. Without him in play and creating space Milito wouldn't have been such a big success. Plus his goals and assits were fine.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 3
Yeah but RG used the comparison under Mourinho obviously lol.
He was fantastic the following season as a CF naturally but we are talking about under Mourinho as they are playing the same role.
Eto'o wasn't good at all offensively that year, he played his role in a successful team to a great standard but i didn't do a lot offensively tbh.
Also in fairness to Martial, prime Sneijder shits all over Roonay and so does the rest of Inter's midfield in terms of balance and fit.

Never did rate Martial that much, as I said he'll be a good player. Not much more imo
Every time I see him he's running straight at a defender, then straight in to them. He's like prime big cheese on clubs back in the day.

I think he's a really talented striker playing on the wing and looks like crap.
Once again it's not really rocket science but to Mourinho it seemingly is.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 3
Only caught the first half, but it's baffling that a supposed top coach in Mourinho is playing Rooney in midfield. I can't think of any benefit of playing him there.
He's not going to get on the ball, dictate and break lines with his passing.
He's not a ball winner and doesn't have the energy to harass deep lying players.
He's not a strong ball carrier.
He doesn't do well in tight spaces so he can't play 10 either.
At best you've got a guy who can finish but is only decent at everything else. Playing with Ibrahimovic in a two he wouldn't be so bad but as a midfielder he's a myth.

Palace 4-0 Stoke

Pretty sure it's not just Shaqiri, they're missing more than a couple players due to injury.
Don't know what's up with that defense tho

No, the greatest trick was getting United to tie him down to a 250k+ contract. Was a great performance, tbh, pretending he wanted to leave and such. Surprised he wasn't nominated for an Oscar that year.CBarca wrote:The greatest trick the Roon ever pulled was convincing the world he was a midfielder. And like that *poof* Man U are shite

As if Shaqiri has had anything more than 2 or 3 good performances since joining them anyway.
Their whole team is playing like crap when we know they are better, when that happens it's obvious the manager isn't doing his job.

Pochettino dropped both Lamela and Davies. Both fault for Monaco's goals

Huh. Players cost you goals/points and get dropped the next game for alternatives. What a novel concept, eh Jose....

Poch is absolutely ruthless
Although I could see Lamela not playing partially based on the fact that he played 90 in the midweek. Who is in for Davies though? Is Rose back already? In which case he should be starting ahead of Davies anyway
