Badstuber tore his ACL beginning of 12/13 only to tear it again in rehab.
He returned for 14/15 only to tear a tendom after a handful of games, then tore a muscle bundle a handful of games after returning, only to return and then have his ankle broken after a couple of games.

During his initial returns, with Pep, he played a couple of games each time (for example the home thrashing of Porto) where he was back to his best or seemed even to be as good as never before. Only to.. (see above)

At his best, he's a world class CB no doubt.

After his last ankle break, he looked poor in the minutes he played though.
So he's been 'fit', in the sense of healthy, for a few months now but is 5th choice CB behind Martinez, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba under Ancelotti.

That gives me the impression he'll not reach his previous level again, the ankle was one too many perhaps.

The fact that we're willing to loan him out with Boateng being out for several months gives you indication how important Ancelotti regards him. He has played Alaba before him at LCB.

Pep loves him though so maybe he can get back to his back there. I would hope so. We'll likely extend his contract before any loan.

Juve had just a foreign GK in its history , and he was a fraud (Van der Saar didn't perform in Juve) so I'm not surprised they 'd make everything to sign Womanrumma who 's the next thing among the Italian GKs . But he 'll stay to Milan imo , the next Milan property can't begin with losing him.

Is he even fit to play? i genuinely think he's a good player when fit but he never actually is.

Will badstuber play on the regular when healthy with competition at City?

Would have been nice to see Badstuber have gone somewhere smaller where he would get all the game time when healthy.

Terrific CB when healthy... would have thought the idea was mmove him somewhere like HSV to give him game time with option to return in the summer.

I know he's been injured but you would have thought there would still be some talk, personally think Barca will go all out for him, the Dele Alli stuff is just UK papers hyping him after a few good games. Coutinho is exactly what Barca need IMO. You may be able to keep him if you win the league but that's an unlikely feat.
