Re: The European Super League Megathread
i was wondering about this aftermath but never expected to collapse so soon. it shows how incompetent how foolish, greedy how incapable the perpetrators where!
like in previous post, this has done irreparable damage to the clubs! well im sure real barca EPL clubs will be able to somehow do some damage control but my god i cant imagine the sporting financial and political ramificaitons that are waiting for serie a clubs ...
wtf were they thinking .... for milan - all that was left in this club was prestige and some dignity... that has been stripped off overnight by gazidis for listening to agnelli ....
no amount of apologies retractions can repair this damage ... even if gazidis resign or singer sells milan we have permanently made domestic and european enemies!!!
damn these guys ... !!! i am embarassed to call myself milan fan! these guys have dragged us milan fans to a fight WE NEVER ASKED FOR!
i dont know how our club will show the face next seerie a game or games after ...
imagine when fans will be let in ....

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Make no mistake, we now have to deal with UEFA's shittiness. The new CL format has been agreed with two new spots for prior achievement. It's one step closer to being the Super League.
But if a few of these owners and chairman piss off, then that's a win.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
tbh i guess UEFA and btw i dont defend UEFA either but these clubs must have presurred and threatened to the level that UEFA was forced with these new formats no one is quite happy about ...
there was nothing wrong with current UEFA format!!!! just because these few clubs says somethings up because its boring ... that just excuse or now we know it to get more money because they feel they are privileged

How official are the things in the last few pages here? Just logged in to 4 pages of ESL collapse.
De Zerbi's words on the ESL are great, says he doesn't want to play Milan tomorrow. Agnelli's replacement should bring him in to coach.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Nothing's official yet because the clubs haven't confirmed it.
I might have jumped the gun with a bad source on Agnelli. My bad on that one.
Woodward seems to be leaving United though, at the end of the season.
Good sources are saying:
- Chelsea and City are pulling out
- Atletico have denied pulling out
- Barca are having a member vote
Other sources - I don't know how good - are saying all the PL teams are pulling out, that the Glazers are selling United, and the SL teams are currently in a meeting working out an exit strategy.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Perez:
No," Perez told L'Equipe when asked if he was worried about clubs leaving the Super League "The situation is serious and everyone is in agreement to carry on with the project and seek a solution. No one is under pressure.
"I am convinced that Bayern Munich and PSG will join us in the end, but we have not yet spoken to them. Teams like Lens will also be able to access [the Super League] and they will be able to sell their players to the best clubs, something they can no longer do because of the crisis.
You have to realise that what's happening now is like what happened in 2008 with the financial crash."
Threats have been made by UEFA officials that Real Madrid and other members of the Super League could be kicked out of the competitions this season, but again Perez seems unperturbed.
"Of course we will play [in the Champions League]," Perez stated. "Threats and insults are not the right way [to go about things]. There we will be no sanctions as we are protected by law. And by common sense."

Either this guy needs to have a mental health check or it's all just bs

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Fiorentino Perez destroyed his legacy with this crazy idea of his...
Football doesn't need fixing. The elite just aren't making enough money to remain the elite and they tried a power play... they failed.
This catastrophic demise = victory for football as a whole. The issue with football is the chasm in spending power... maybe the pandemic has solved that believe it or not.
The sport has never been more popular. The pandemic has caused issues for EVERYONE, not just football clubs. The whining is absurd.
