Bernardo Silva is pretty good.
Monaco in defensive transition are bad. Might be the reason they do poor against City.

Silva is legit man. Can see him at a top club next season. Maybe Arsenal.

Nah he will cost 40m at least. Probably somewhere better.

Fabinho was rested and Moutinho played in his place at CM, which is why the midfield defensive transition was bad. Â It's normally good. Bakayoko playing with a sore knee (taken out at HT) was not a good thing either.
Also, Toure over Sidibe was another problem.
Sidibe is training though and was on the bench for this one so he should be back for City.
Monaco is deep in the attack, nowhere else.

Some of us actually had hopes on this guy around the start of the season, Balotelli is hopeless

I need to stop hyping Lyon just because I like some of their players, definitely not EL contenders lol. Keep losing to scrubs.

Nice was Balo's final chance and he's squandered it. Will either be in China on silly money or at some lower half of the table Serie A team and take a 80% pay cut.

If we're talking Lyon all I gotta say is that Grenier hasn't taken off like I thought he would. Gonalons is super unnoticed. Needs more call ups to NT. Lacazette won't stay there much longer now. I fancy them for EL. Semi's at least.

Re: Ligue 1 16/17 Thread
PSG had the advantage of having Ibra in league play... which broke most every park-the-bus tactic because of his physical presence. Didn't help them at all in CL against teams who played them honestly... but it was a huge help in league.
Now Ligue 1 teams look to beat PSG up, play them very physically and pack the middle. Cavani, as great as he's been, isn't so lethally effective against that. In fact, Ibra might be one of the best players ever against negative tactics.

Sports I would say the big difference is that Emery is a transition manager and just doesn't have the tactic to beat packed the bus teams. Ibra flopped against Inter in 4 games when he played ofr Barcelona and did nothing against Chelsea and the team played better when he got sent off.
I'd say it's because the overall style of the team has changed and apparently players like Verratti were upset because he had to run a lot more. That's why he was perfect for Barcelona. Perfect tactic vs teams that are awful structurally. They could take Bayern out as well but Madrid might cause them trouble out of the big teams left

Re: Ligue 1 16/17 Thread
Paris exerted themselves in CL. Toulouse is rather decent. A draw was definitely possible. Still though, nothing's changed. PSG can still take it if Monaco progress in CL. If Monaco bow out to City then all focus will be exerted towards Le Championnat and Monaco will be the favorites. Next 2 weeks will determine the outcome.

Re: Ligue 1 16/17 Thread
didn't realise there was such a huge gap after the top 3 in the league, seems like CL teams are already a lock
Lyon smh
100% Tolisso and Laca leave this summer
Nice in CL will be awful

Re: Ligue 1 16/17 Thread
I can't quite call Nice being awful in CL yet. Right now I don't see them getting very far unless they buy some good ammunition in the off season. What really makes me second guess Nice is Favre. I've seen that guys handiwork already at Mochengladach. He seems to be pulling that off at Nice right now.
Also Monaco got through Guingamp. Signs of fatigue and hold back were visible. Glad to see Monaco get the 3 pts here, in the end.
