Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
I suppose i don't trust them to book his appearances in a way where you hide his weaknesses and amplify his strengths.
If there's anything i miss from back in the day it's probably that, an ability to make talent look really good and then hide what they aren't good at.
Doesn't happen anymore sadly and i kind of expect them to expose the fact he's an old guy now because they are incompetent.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Goldberg coming back could actually get me watching again
I probably only watched a few WCW events as a kid, UK was WWF dominated, everyone at school watched that. Even still EVERYONE knew who Goldberg was. Him and Steiner + NWO. Couldn't name any of the others before they jumped to WWE.
my favorite wrestler as a kid was The Rock but I was cheering for Goldberg over him in his debut feud. Hollywood Rock was a quality heel though.

think it would be a stank lvl stint in the WWE at this point though tbh
no idea how old he is but I'd imagine mid 40s at best

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
from what I remember about him he never was that diverse as a wrestler, he just had insane athleticism to carry him. At 49 I'd be impressed if he has 50% what he did 13 years ago. Keep him away from the mic too ffs. I could only seeing it work if he has a very limited schedule, like a face version of Brawk.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
That's what i'm concerned about, i mean today they force people like Reigns on the mic ffs.
Would have never happened back in the day, they didn't force people to do what they wasn't good at.
I think he does deserve one last run though, when he was promoting WWE2K17 he came across as a really great guy who was genuinely excited about being in the game.
So he probably deserves all that before the inevitable hall of fame inclusion.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Yea the last thing i wanna see is skinny wrinkly Goldberg, but he says he's in a great shape so maybe a combination of nostalgia and good booking will carry this through.
As for who he'll feud with, Lesnar comes to mind first because in keyfab Goldberg is the only one who can stop him. Bruan strawman asked for stronger competition yesterday and actually said who's next (Goldberg's line) so there might be something brewing here. Other possibilities are Regins (spear vs spear) Cena (superman vs superman) and Taker (my streak is bigger than yours)

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Can't remember the last time I watched WWE. At this point not even the rumble or WM would interest me.
Has to be a big controversial story or something special that gets me to watch again.

In all seriousness would a Cena heel turn even be good anymore? Ship has sailed imo.

Their whole build has been some weird creepy B horror movie lol.
I wouldn't even mind it if the end result wasn't obviously an Orton win.

Bray
I could buy into this shit if there was even a tiny bit of hope he was going to win.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Amazing segment.
Legit marked when Cena said talk is cheap and just attacked Ambrose
I don't think it does tbf as they all hit their finishers on each other, doubt he's winning anyway but yeah.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 29
Think he will tbh.
Wouldn't even be surprised if the ending is Dean or Cena hitting their finisher on the other and AJ steals the win.
Looking forward to it though, should be really good.

Yea they need to build Cena-Ambrose rivalry further so the best outcome will have to be AJ taking advantage.

Lol Goldberg - insane athleticism? He couldn't last in the ring at all before he got gassed. He literally had 3 moves and this was almost 20 years ago. Can't cut a promo, can't go in the ring. The only thing he's got is the look and a spear or two left to someone for some nostalgia pop.

His moveset was a lot better in his WWE run tbf.
Anyway....
I'm still concerned lol, but we'll see.
Anyway....
Another source says that @Goldberg vs @BrockLesnar is a done deal and that it will likely go down at #SurvivorSeries. If true, bravo @wwe

This is the typical kind of love that Goldberg gets on the internet, but for all his shortcomings there is no denying how phenomenal he was as a character. People shit on his move set and work rate but he made it work and had intense amazing (short) matches, then they say he couldnt cut a promo but his character needed him NOT to talk, and then they say he's just a gimmick, but isnt everybody? at least he made his work, and he put asses on the seats, other more "talented" wrestlers spend their careers complaining because they can execute a perfect headlock.
