Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club III
"With his brace against Huesca on Sunday at Camp Nou, the only team in the division he had not scored against, the Argentine can now boast a full set of victims in LaLiga. Real Madrid’s Raúl González managed to score against 35 different clubs in the Spanish top flight but Messi went past that landmark figure last season and extended his record with his goals against the newly promoted side."

That pass for Rakitic's volley is out of this world. And people say his passing is one dimensional

Really? You obvious dont read Redcafe or Bigsoccer. Many claim he only has "good" passes to the left (Alba).

Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club III
He does have better passes to the left because he comes in from the right wing and is left footed. That's just logic and doesn't mean Messi is one dimensional, obviously he's the most all-round accomplished player to ever grace the field.

One of the best individual performances ever, did absolutely everything in the field.
Pochettino - "We didn't lose to a team called Barcelona, we lost to a man called Lionel Messi. And there is no shame in losing to such a Great Man."

Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club III
He's mastered the game of football tbh, dribbling is flawless be it from a standing position or at pace, weight of passes is like Xavi and Pirlo, short or long it doesn't matter and his finishing is out of this world, both from inside and outside the box on par if not better than the likes of Batistuta et al.

Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club III
What I always found most astounding besides the invisible string tied between his left foot and the ball, is his little-to-no backlift when shooting. He wouldn't be as nearly accurate and efficient if it wasn't for that. Most of his goals aren't really out of this world rockets and Theirry Henry finesse curlers, but they simply and efficiently fizz of his feet into the back of the net, giving goalkeepers little chance to react to get to the ball. Magical genius.
GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club III
His shooting accuracy must be 99 in FIFA. when he shoots its 99% on target.
Coutinho also is very accurate, probably most accurate after Messi in the last months, its always on target.
But there is a little difference. Messi shoots to score, he sees where the goalkeeper is and doesnt shoot straight at him even under pressure his goal is to score, i believe there is no thing called "pressure" for him. he is used to wrestle with 5 players and still be conscious, he runs 50m between many players and still wants to score it. he prefers to miss it rather than to shoot straight at goalkeeper.
Coutinho is just in love with shooting doesnt matter where it goes, if its on target its good. but i like how he never shoots it into the sky, he has amazing accuracy

Lionel Messi has scored more goals from outside the box than any other player in the top five European leagues in the last 10 seasons (57). Sniper.— OptaJose (@OptaJose) October 7, 2018
