I've liked the moves Barca made this summer. Could be set for a decade by spending on potential on a no.of positions. The depth looks healthy now.

Only thing which is giving a sense is depth of the squad.

Always and every year in last 2-3 years a lot of overspending on players.

It's impossible for a club of that reputation to not spend a lot. It's what you have to do to stay at the top right now.

It was funny that Barca fans were saying that for awhile. In reality they are no different from the likes of RM, PSG, ManC, ManU, etc. in terms of expenditures

As for Barca's recent history in the market they haven't needed any starters apart from Suarez- because honestly how would you improve that squad otherwise? This is the season they really do need to fill starting spots though.

RB, CB where are those signings? Probably need another forward too.

Sergi Roberto will play RB of course.

Reckon Gomes is more suited to Barca's system tbh. He would bring some decent speed and dribbling to that midfield and better long shots than their midfielders. Not sure how he'd fair against Atleti's pressing but will probably have his work cut out for him by the MSN anyways.

Barca under Lucho has not really promoted anyone to the first team. He doesn't trust the youth. The next Xavi, Iniesta or Messi will be forced out of the team for lack of playing opportunities.

Andre Gomes contract details revealed: €15m for winning Ballon d'Or


Barcelona have announced that Andre Gomes' presentation will take place on Wednesday in the Mini Estadi (12:30pm CET), and the club also laid bare the full cost of acquiring the player.

The Portuguese 22-year-old will sign for five seasons and have a release clause of 100 million euros but will set the Catalans back a fixed sum of 35m euros with another 20m in variables.

Added to that is a 15m euro bonus payable to Valencia, should the player win the Ballon d'Or during his time at the club.

A photo session on Tuesday afternoon at the club offices is planned with a medical examination to follow.

The formalities will be completed on Wednesday when the player will sign his contract.

so we basically paied 40m for him, not too bad and if he somehow (which he wont) wins the balon 'dore then he would of been worth it lol
